Were you able to get Fou Foune or St. Lam to go? I think they were releasing it around that time.

I forgot the name but I'm sure I took a picture. I'll post a pic later. I do remember getting a beer that was quite bitter/sour and low on carbination. Wife didn't like it much even though sours are her favorite.

Total Wine stores have been a godsend to find Belgians, and well, anything.

My wife and I went to a Brewers game this weekend and had a couple of hours to kill before checking into the hotel. I hadn't been to Milwaukee in almost 25 years so we wandered down to the historical riverwalk area to see what was up.

We walked into the Lakeside Brewery and did the tour. http://www.lakefrontbrewery.com/

The tour was great and very reasonable which came with tokens to try anything available which was a lot. I'll bet they had close to 20 beers on tap. Between the two of us we tried the Hop Jockey, River West Stein Amber Lager, a single IPA, the East Side Dark Lager, some kind of Scotch Ale, and the Organika.

While I loved every one I tried, the Organika was a real surprise since it's an organic, Gluten Free beer. I tried this since it was a little lower alcohol than most of the beers and I was trying to not be completely bombed by 1 pm. I wasn't expecting much, but the Organika was REALLY good. It is a white belgian and had a great flavor. I had been drinking some Trippel the night before and this one tasted like sort of a light version of a Trippel. Tour this place and drink lots if you're in the Milwaukee area. They had some great food too. The best fried cheese curds I think I've ever had.

Eyyyyy, welcome to my neck of the woods! Glad you were able to squeeze a brewery tour in; Lakefront has some real characters running the tours and some very good beer. Cheers.

"Belgian style Amber Ale". Whatever it is, it's delicious. Haven't had a less than excellent beer from this brewery.

    Label reads "AGES WELL"...

Most certainly does! This one is 3.5 years old and was amazing. The 18% ABV doesn't hurt either!

Can't wait to see what the others I have stored up turn out like across the coming years.

    Cheers

What's the temp you keep it at?

I opened up one of my bottles a couple days ago for Mr. Bourdain.

All of them are room temp except for the one I had in my beer fridge (wife made me get a separate mini-fridge for the basement so I would stop taking up too much space in our main fridge!). Put it in meaning to have it sooner, but kind of forgot about it and pulled it out after a few crazy weeks of work and my daughter's jr high graduation. Toasting Mr. Bourdain would clearly be a worthy reason as well.

I'm also hugely spoiled in terms of access to 120. Living in Philly I can get it pretty easily. Actually saw a couple of cases out at a local specialty beer store the other week...

And speaking of good beer, I'm at the Admirals Club in Orlando and they have Bud Lite, Miller, Corona, Stella and Jai Alai.

Which one of these is not like the others?!? Can't say I've ever seen that good of an IPA at an airline lounge before...

Rainy chilly day. Good time to open this big boy stout after helping my sis settle into her new place all weekend.

    Mmmm. Perennial Abraxas.

First time trying. Right in my wheel house. Hint of citrus and subtle use of spiciness.
