Catching up on my late night shows. Impressed with this somewhat down tempo tune.

    hello,.

@bixby, both MrsForBin and #1daughter are huge Death Cab fans.

Kintsugi (the long player this tune is from) is f'ing amazing.:)

I stumbled upon this band around 2006 when my local library had a copy of "Plans". I checked it out and thought it was just alright the first couple of listens, but then it started to really grow on me. I've really liked all their records since then. (Plans, Narrow Stairs, Codes and Keys, Kintsugi) I also bought "Transatlanticism" which has it's great moments but their older records don't seem to be quite as consistent throughout. The musicianship is excellent, but I think these guys wouldn't probably stand out if they were in separate bands. There is a sort of a "total is greater than the sum of it's parts" kind of synergy that is going on here.

I went to a Deathcab concert once since my friend is a huge fan. Longest 2 hours of my life. Seeing this on Colbert caused my PTSD to flare up.

I can totally see how DCFC could fall into the love 'em or hate 'em category. If I had never heard them before and saw them live as a first exposure, I probably would have felt the same as you.

I ran to Amazon to sample a few cuts from the album, I was impressed. Need to listen to some more and then search out a used copy. I like finding new music that I actually like. May have to go into the back catalog. Also do like Postal Service as well.
