I am selling my entire CD collection.

No junk, I curated these titles over the course of a decade and would like them to go to a home where they will be played. They have been gathering dust for months, some of them years. I am just increasingly into minimalism and I am over physical media. First I kept telling myself that I would get some sicko mode CD setup and then I'd be playing them every night. That never happened. Then I kept telling myself that they make a great archival format and I would eventually sit down and rip them all on my 1998 Bondi Blue Mac G3 at 1x speed using esoteric OS8.6 abandonware software for best sound. Yeah that never happened.

My relationship with music has changed. I mostly listen to my laptop speaker or phone speaker or car speaker. We live in an era where the history of recorded music is available in our pockets, and I think these discs have just become sentimental tokens for me rather than a meaningful way of engaging with the recordings. It was pretty painful to photograph all of these as I remember where I got every single disc, but I already went through this exercise with my LP collection and I haven't missed it for a second, so I guess it will be the same with these.

Sorry I don't have time to price each disc, life is way too short. I will be selling these in 3 lots by divided by genre. I think the prices are fair and I averaged the value out pretty well.

    pop/rock - 143 titles

These mostly comprise 80s/90s/00s alternative as that's what I was into when I was collecting. Yes, I really like the Cranberries, Elastica and Sinead (RIP)

$395 for the lot plus shipping

    jazz - 80 titles

I purchased most of these when I was 'getting into' jazz. This will make a great starter collection for someone who wants to 'get into' jazz. You have a mix of bop, big band, legendary artists and a few contemporary recordings. There are a number of sampler discs because these have great analog transfers. The labels (Columbia, Blue Note, Impulse) really wanted you to buy their other CDs and put care into them.

$350 for the lot plus shipping

    classical - 75 titles

There is an eclectic mix here of esoteric discs of great performers of the 20th century and contemporary recordings.

$295 for the lot EXCEPT for the Oistrakh discs which are an extra $100. They are rare collectors items. If you want to purchase the Oistrakh discs, I will separate those.

Some great titles. A good chunk of my music library came from buying used CDs. I did get to ripping them over a few weeks of the pandemic but i cant seem to part with mine as i always want the album and art and the nostalgia of what each meant to me at the time.

    GL with the sale.

thanks for the support. the classical lot sold. I took $100 off the pop/rock. would be great to have all the discs go to members here.

proceeds from the sale will go directly to a Magnatone amp and sunburst Strat

I ended up buying a Cobain signature jag instead of the Strat. I always wanted one, time will tell if it was the right move

this means the remaining CDs really need to go. price drop to $295 + shipping for 143 CDs!

does anyone want the rock CDs for $250?

Magnatone didn't have any good dealers in Canada and I ended up getting a tweed deluxe. Little Tweed, meet Big Tweed
