FS: UERM’s

It’s time for me to let go of my Ultimate Ears Reference Monitors (UERM’s). These CIEMs need no introduction as they are legendary and were end game for me, however I haven’t had much time for listening these days. There is a good chance I could regret selling these some day but I’m going to take some time from the audio world as I have too many hobbies as is.

These were originally owned by Griffon, I bought them from him in 2016 and had them reshelled by Inearz. When reshelled by Inearz they switched them over to recessed sockets so they use standard 2 pin cables now.

Are these still available? I might be interested... just need to do a little research, it's been a while since I've refreshed my memory of the UERM but from what I do remember, they should be great.

 

Disclosure: I'm biased as my UERM have a slight sentimental value to me AND I have weird ear canals which means most non-custom IEMs don't work that well for me.

I haven't heard THAT many IEMs given that I'm in the US, but I have listened to IEMs in multiple stores when traveling (including Singapore and HK). My own opinion is I'd still rather have these for $300 + $75 ear impressions (often less) + $300 reshell (maybe less) over anything I've heard that was <$1k. However, be very aware that you're going to get what is widely considered a very neutral and revealing sound. Also some have had minor complaints about the tone and timbre being almost but not quite annoying - closest I can think of is SR1a, but not as much as SR1a.

Somebody really should jump on these, it's a steal for a decent well regarded IEM. I only heard the universal model a few times myself and loved it but I'm not in the market right now. If I was in the market I'd be all over these.
