I can't share music with family with headphones. It's too individualistic and self focused. My wife suggested listening together with headphones, but that really didn't work for many reasons.

When I put music on speakers, the entire family enjoys, and the kids come to the couch if there is something of interest to them. I'm not losing this time with my kids. They are at an age of optimal curiosity and sentience for this stuff.

I'd keep my headphones for work, but I've found out over time that I dont like being distracted while working.

Makes perfect sense. I BARELY ever play my headphones, except maybe at night if I am still up and I don't want to disturb the family.
If at work, if the sound quality is too good, I found that it would distract me completely. Hence "Work" rigs just don't really work....need mediocre background listening kinda headphones there ;)

Lucky you. If that happens here, people will be coming over to me, but not to enjoy or compliment the music I'm playing :(

    Sony MA900?

Sweet Jesus that took awhile. Finally did the cork sheet mod after cutting my fingers a few times with the exacto blade.

Will report back to see if there is any sibilance left or any increase in bass.

Just so people don't get worried, the packages were all returned to me as unmachinable (bit too thick). Strange how the one I sent @zerodeefex didn't have that problem. They should all be on their way now.

I assume you used the Anax 2.0 template to cut these out, did you use the 'neutral' ring shape or the 'warm, thick' one below it for the cork?

The neutral ring shape is what is being used.

Arrived in Maine... applied now... sounding good... just need a SD absorber from France.

Thanks to everyone involved with these mods. Def driving the community forward big time

Update: 2ish hrs later. Wow what a difference over just rug pad material. Not as fatiguing - used to keep volume fairly low to combat the peak, now I can turn it up. Still has all other positive traits.

Could I get a reconfirmation that it is indeed the 'neutral' ring cutout from the Anax 2.0 pdf being used for this or was a different template? Also am I right to assume I am printing original size on A4 and not setting the printer to 'fit to page'? My cutout seems to be quite a bit thicker and in the video tutorial it doesn't look as if one side of the ring is thicker than the other. FYI I'm using a 1.5mm thick sheet to cut. (Trapezoid has since been trimmed to not overlap the ring and fit better but I haven't taken a new photo)

It looks a little off. It should be the exact same O.D. and I.D. as the metal ring basically.

Looks about right to me but it's hard to tell. Best not to freak out over a mm here and there. The effect is what's important.

Definitely looks to me like the original template was used, not the 2.0. I actually did try the original (downloaded pdf from IF) but I prefer the 2.0.

Final version of my own "2.0 style" cork mod. Not sure how differently the wider cork affects high frequencies though.

Next batch will be going out this week, if you haven't emailed me by now then your unit is going to go to Round #2 people

And I realize that the list in the first post isn't up to date, it will be by the end of the day.

Its anax 1.0 actually! Its smaller on the ring and almost doesn't touch the mesh or inside the driver. Tyll's cutout.
