Thank you! Unfortunately, I do not know, the length is 1.5 m and inside is a litz wire. The manufacturer does not want to disclose the exact composition of the insides. I'm afraid to disassemble the cable to see. I'm not very lucky with mods, I can spoil it. I don't have the right equipment to measure the capacitance and inductance of a cable, or measure changes in headphone frequency response or impulse response when changing cables. Here it is, model RLS-55
    http://art-cables.com/index.php/catalog/headphones-cables/кабель-наушников-rls-55-от-лаборатории-sergst-alex-cable-highend-audiolab-москва-detail

I could send the cable to someone for a test to make sure there really are changes, and if it is possible to measure the characteristics, then even better

Interesting cable topology shown in that website. I wonder what they use for the dialectric, if anything.

I find full transparency is the best policy when selling cables. Otherwise, it looks like you're trying to hide something, if you know what I mean. ;)
I add the specs for my bought-out cable for each model and make sure not to make any bold or unverifiable claims but I'm going to be adding measurements for distortion and FR at some point, or when I can get my technique and equipment down. Balance, voltage, capacitance and of course continuity are always final checks however.

Measuring capacitance is relatively easy if you have a decent MM and lower is usually better but not an absolute rule. Inductance would only be useful as a comparative measurement and it's also something I'd like to explore in order to verify the effectiveness of RFI/EMI mitigation in my braided cables.
I'm not an enthusiastic advocate of measuring/measurements as I think synergy is far more important to achieve via experimentation/trying things out and listening tests using only your ears but I realise the marketing value of providing measurement data to some.
    Swings and roundabouts!

I am more inclined to believe that he simply does not take measurements and does everything empirically by ear like engineers from 47labs. I have a friend who made a cable that added a lot of bass to his headphones, but it was expensive - pure silver solid cores (he made monocores in a jewelry workshop and added copper cores to them 1 pc each, but the low bass made his body feel bad, who wants to repeat the experiment, he does not hide the ingredients - https://forum.doctorhead.ru/forums/topic/44864-ostorozhno-infrabas-barabas/). If the cable changes the sound, then these changes can be detected by devices, if the changes are not noticed, then this is a placebo or an incorrect measurement technique / insufficiently accurate devices. For example, there are measurements of DT48 on the Internet, they have a huge decline in low frequencies. My friend tried them on his stand and the bass is fine. As it turned out, my friend measured on a stand with a microphone without ears and a good clamp, and the one who measured on an artificial head did not provide a good fit for the ear pads, so the bass became less on the graph. The first is a graph from a flat stand
    [IMG]
the second comes from a stand with an artificial head here
    https://reference-audio-analyzer.pro/en/report/hp/beyerdynamic-dt-48-e-200.php#gsc.tab=0

I can offer you an exchange for time - I send you my cable and you hear it and share your impressions, and you send me yours, then we return the cables back, of course if you're interested

That's an interesting proposition as I'm very curious about your cable.
Personally, I estimate that the sonic differences between cable-types; copper, silver, palladium, hybrid etc. are very subtle. Noticeable, but very subtle and I think most people, including myself would find it difficult to complete a double-blind test between even 2 cable types successfully.
I have an Extron matrix switch which has the possibility to randomize outputs to a single receiver. Testing interconnect cables and distinguishing them apart, even when they all sound great but are made with totally different materials was very interesting and my guesses were only 50% correct on average.

However, logistically it may be difficult, especially if you are located in RU (?) as cables are on the export embargo list currently.

Welcome to Super Best Audio Friends!

Long time reader. I am a Headphone listener. A nice selection of mid price, nice quality headphones and amps that sound good to my tin can ears. I enjoy visiting SBAF to read the reviews and the general music discussions. Right now I am really enjoying Jazz, Fusion and Female vocals. Thanks for letting me join the group.

Hi, I’m Steppe, a music listener forever trying to compensate for hearing loss in my left ear. This journey has led me to DIY - right now I’m puzzling out resistors and passive attenuation.

I really like the approach of measurements alongside listening here and when it comes down to it, I know next to nothing so I’m here to read, lurk, and learn until I have the understanding to contribute myself.
Thanks to this forum for existing, and I hope you'll let me stick around.

Hey all - music has been a big part of my life forever, starting with listening to cassettes (age alert) while playing with action figures to getting into car audio during my teenage years (I still do that these days...), becoming a performing musician playing for crowds of thousands, and now evolving much more into home theater/home audio/headphones. I listen to any/everyhing except country music but gravitate toward hard rock and things that get the blood pumping, and while I have a few different pairs the HE-500s are the set that just do it for me like no others.

I'm a scientist by trade and training and appreciate the scientific process, but also feel that audio and music in particular are as much, if not moreso, about emotion: what speaks to each of us can vary greatly. That's not to say that there aren't sucky speakers and headphones out there because there most definitely are, but rather that 'sonic perfection' is a broad subjective target once a certain threshold of baseline tolerability is reached.

Been lurking for a long while and finally thought I'd join. Happy listening, everyone!

    Hello everyone,

I just wanted to say that I am happy to be here. I have been involved with music since I was little, as my dad had an old stereo system. Since then, I have always enjoyed music and DIY stuff. I bought my first "hi-fi" headphone over 7 years ago, and since then, it has been nothing but joy, exploring the hobby, meeting new people, and making friends.

I am a cable maker as my profession, and I also work as a paramedic for my local hospital. I love talking about music, headphones, and cables. I'm more of an emotional listener rather than a measurement person. Currently, I own four headphones: my Focal Utopia (old) with Coffee Litz 8-core cable, Hifiman Edition XS and 1000v1 both using a pure silver cable, and my good old Sennheiser HD424X using a normal OFC copper cable. I'm using a HK770 that I restored myself with some pure silver RCAs with pure silver oyaide connectors and a TEAC UD501/Eversolo Z8.

And wanted to say that im always happy to make new friends.

i’ve been messaging with Antonio for over 2+ months now, not only is he a good, super knowledgable f'ing guy who has helped answer my many, many dumb questions about cables without EVER offering his cables as a solution (seriously, at first I didn't even know he was a cable maker), but I have literally watched him and @E_Schaaf go back-and-forth on good cable construction for four straight hours lmao.

And both he and El Chefe agreed unshielded with cotton insulation sounded best, so that will be my next cable, and since I know he uses real OCC (when so many makers aside from Neotech and Furutech use OFC masquerading as ohno continuous cast copper), I’m goin’ w Gladiator Cables (his brand, and he also does OCC silver!).

    Hello SBAF,
I'm a headphone enjoyer from Canada, currently listening primarily on my Hifiman HE-X4 and Atom stack combo. I listen primarily to rock, alt, folk, and metal. I came across this site while looking for personal impressions of audio gear and found it quite useful and have really been enjoying the discussions happening here.
    Cheers!

    Greetings from sunny San Diego!

I've been a reader of these forums for a while, let me start by thanking the members of this forum for the advice and reading material they've already provided.

While I do have a speaker system, I've been primarily into headphones over the last 10+ years when I had to adjust to other members of the family going to sleep before I do. I discovered tubes about 5 years ago and have never looked back. I prefer a wide variety of music, but lean towards alternative rock (older and newer) and classical as my main two genres.

When not listening to music I enjoy soccer, hockey, reading, movies, and family.

I go by Jaytiss on most forums. I enjoy headphones a lot, iems, and gaming headsets mainly. I am older with two kids that are super silly. I hope to enjoy my time gear as I find audio an enjoyable hobby.

Hi Denver! Great to see you around these parts. :punk:

The real question for all you Californians is what fuses are you running in your ACs to minimize the sound of the constant air conditioner whirring in the background.

Quick question: what do you have to do to get permissions to post in the Selling forum? I'm selling my 800S and ETA Mini Closed.

Hi everyone, just joined today. I've been reading this forum for awhile now but figured its time to make an account. I've enjoyed reading through threads about the Schiit Yggdrasil and Tyrs and hope to contribute to some of those threads soon. I'm just a headphone user but have been in the audio hobby since 2013. Recently started going to Canjams and have had a lot of fun hearing more gear and meeting the people who make some of the equipment I use. I go by Christof on most online audio communities but you may have seen me on HF as "cangle". Looking forward to interacting with everyone on the forums here.
