I've got a mini ITX PC

    Bitfenix Prodigy
Intel Core i7 3770K with Corsair H55 AIO
    Asrock Z77E-ITX
    2x8GB GSkill DDR3-2133
    Gigabyte GTX 970 G1 gaming
    OCZ Vector 180 240GB
    3TB Seagate
    Seasonic Platinum 660W PSU
    27" Dell UH2713HM
Coolermaster CM Storm Trigger KB and Spawn mouse

Don't want to post photos of my rig. The Bitfenix Prodigy can't handle the African sun and some of the coating started peeling off so it looks quite bad. Need to buy a new mesh front panel for mine.

    Mouse: G502
Keyboard: CM Quickfire Ultimate MX Brown
    Mousepad: SteelSeries 4HD

I am happy with my rig because it is stable and fast. I think that the enthusiast PC crowd has really pushed the HW makers and there are several great companies out there that make solid hardware.

My primary goal was to get the noise down. I think i have succeeded. One neat trick i found was, surrounding my HDD drive with foam, leaving the top open for heat dissipation. When your case is made of thin sheet steel, then it is prone to vibrations. The ideas is that you totally isolate HDD from the PC frame w/ soft foam. This makes it inaudible.

That's about it, still going strong, will be looking at new GPUs next year.

@dark_energy, interesting, don't have much sound coming that isn't being overwhelmed by the fans but definitely keeping that in mind for the silent build I want to make.

Nice photos! I had a XSPC watercooling setup about 2 years ago, but the system just became too noisy for me. Did manage to overclock a Core I5 2500K to stable 5Ghz on that setup and managed to hit 5.2GHz, but I couldn't get it stable!

Btw, that is a huge PC case *stares in wonder* I have the same graphics card and it barely fits in my Prodigy!

I've got a build in progress, though it's stalled for reason I'll go into later.
    CPU - Intel i7-5820k
Mobo - Asus ROG Rampage V Extreme
Ram - basic bitch ram / Corsair Vengeance LPX 2x16 GB @ 2400 MHz
Disks/ssds - all kinds of stuff, needs to be cleaned up a bit.
    Chassis - Corsair Obsidian 900D
    PSU - Corsair AX1500i

So, there are two different RAM kits listed, and that's because I got the corsair first but the firmware on the mobo is not recent enough to support the 16 GB modules. It just gives me post error 53 over and over. The second kit should get me up and running, then I can upgrade the firmware and use non-shitty ram. #FirstWorldProblems

Mine was built primarily Summer 2015 as a rig for 3D CAD and 4K video editing. While some CAD and 4K have been done on it, it has primarily been a gaming and MS Office rig. I would like a new case, but at this point, have a lot of other things I would rather buy. My old P-150 was purchased when I was obsessed with silent computing and it has been great for that. Even with stock cooling for both the CPU and GPU, it is whisper quiet. Just don't like gloss white finish. Runs my Dolphin emulator beautifully, too.

Rebuilt my rig so I could better experiment with VMs.

    Running an Intel Xeon E3-1230v2
    Intel DH77KC mainboard
    16GB DDR3
Gigabyte G1 Gaming GTX 970 main | Nvidia Quadro K600 for VMs
OCZ Vector 180 main | Samsung PM830 for VMs
    Seasonic 660W
Using Deepcool Tesseract chassis which is actually rather good for a budget case, system is also dead quiet.

Idea to is run Windows 10 on my main system. I have secondary VMs for work and for Linux development and experimentation. Will also try and experiment with Vt-d to pass through the 2nd SSD and graphics card to the VMs.

If you get Vt-d to work, post about it. I'd love to have that working in my system.

Working on a new build now. My current rig (i7 860) is being hand-me-downed to my sister.

As I've gone for like 7 years without a core update, my main goals are ticking as many boxes as I can. I want M.2 capability, USB 3.0 (and 3.1 with A and C types), PCIE 3.0, SATA 3, DD4, Win 10. This way I will be as prepared as I can for the next 7 years or so. The i5 6600K alone will be about double the performance I currently have. My Intel X25-M is already limited in sequential bandwidth on my SATA2 ports. I won't be upgrading my graphics right now, but later this year should prove some real gains in graphics due to the 28nm barrier being broken finally, so having PCIE 3.0 will be great. The current crop of M.2 drives is overpriced, but I do expect to get one at some point. I have a few USB 3.0 devices that run so slow on my USB 2.0 ports, it's annoying.

    i5 6600K (OC to 4.2-4.5)
    Noctua NH-D15 cooler
Gigabyte Z170 UD5 or Asrock Z170 Extreme 7+ (or something else, these seem good values and tick all the boxes) Need lots of SATA ports as you'll see below.
G.Skill NT Series 2x8GB DDR4 2100 (OC it to 2400-2600 probably, faster RAM doesn't seem to do anything on Skylake, so no point buying 3000+ RAM)
Asus R9 270 2GB (from current computer, only play games at 1080p, so this is fine for now)
    Samsung 850 EVO 1TB SSD
    WD Green 4TB
    WD Green 4TB
    Hitachi Deskstar 2TB
    Samsung Spinpoint 2TB
    WD Green 1TB
    WD Black 1TB
    Corsair 850W PSU
    Fractal Design Define R5

All hard disks are from current computer and currently just random disks, but I plan to consolidate some data and mirror the like size drives using Windows Storage Spaces (Win 8.1/10 only). Considering selling off the 2 1TB, and maybe the 2 2TB to get a pair of 6 or 8TB drives.

That's a very solid build and should work just fine. I'm doing the same thing with respect the the graphics cards, I'm going to get the new titan when it comes out, tentative date for it is April.

Ordered the Asrock Extreme 7+ since the Newegg rebate was only good through today. Really liked the front panel extra 3.1 A and C ports and the 10 SATA ports. It was a bit more than I thought I'd spend on a mobo, but it had everything.

I don't have to have my current rig ready for my sister until the end of Feb, so I'm still waiting around for deals on the other parts. I haven't ordered from Jet.com yet, so I can still get $50 off my first order there with code SCARYMOMMY2015 until March 1. At this point though, all I'm missing is the CPU, RAM, and cooler. Think I will stay with my current drives for now. 7TB mirrored and 1TB SSD should be fine. I'm using about 5TB atm, but some of that is wasteful hoarding I could trim.

Went from an ITX SG08/4790K/980 build recently all the way to (warning: e-peen incoming):

    CPU: i7-5960X @ 4.4GHz
    Motherboard: ASRock X99E-ITX/ac
    GPU: eVGA GTX 980 Ti SC+ ACX 2.0 @ 1.5GHz
RAM: 2x16GB Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4-2666
    SSD: Samsung 950 Pro M.2 512GB
    Cooling: Corsair H100i
PSU: Silverstone SX600-G (waiting on the SX700-LPT)
    Case: NCASE M1 v4
    OS: Windows 10 Pro x64
    Monitor: Dell U2715H
    Mouse: Logitech G700s
    Keyboard: Logitech G710+

This started out as a reasonable 5820K/16GB build but I got a killer deal on the 5960X. Then it became more of a proof-of-concept build than anything else: twice the cores, RAM, and SSD space of my prior system while shaving off more than two full liters in volume (12.6L). Still no Mac Pro though.

The H100i pump is pretty noisy (and I can't use Corsair Link to lower it) so I might swap it out for a NH-C14 while they're still around.
