Is this the regular Carbon version with brass yellow grills? It sure does not look brass on your pictures. I've tested Boobinga with brass yellow grills and they looked not like yours on these pics.

I'm choosing a color scheme now. I liked Boobinga theme in real life, but I was wondering if other color themes might be even better.;) Your scheme looks great on the photos.

Wish someone could post homemade photos of Zebrano version.

That is pretty. The leather strap looks beefy enough to diffuse and distribute the weight of the headphone. I want one.

Ah, so my eyes don't deceive me, thanks for a prompt reply! Is it possible to order carbon+silver color scheme now?

Is Zebrano using the same silver grill?

I'll be brief with my feedback since I lurk more than post. I also had the loose grill issue. No issues once pushed back against the black fabric/paper/whatever.

    The ergonomics are great!
Wish there were just a bit more instructions included for getting the top dial from pressing into the headband.

Quickly resolved because the side screws and 3 hole centering are very intuitive and were adjusted to taste. Very comfy, coming from someone who only owns Sennheisers. I fell asleep with them on.

    Build quality is excellent!
I would love to see a COGS analysis for some the headphones on the market that the Verums measure evenly with.
A hearty congratulations on delivering TRANSPARENCY & VALUE TO THE CUSTOMER.

Very easy to drive as promised, iPhone SE doesn't struggle with graininess or frequency extremes when playing from its headphone out. Schiit Asgard 2 runs them great, as does the iDSD Nano from its headphone out.

They do both my digital and vinyl front ends justice, no questions there.

Verum very much reminds me of listening to the high end Hifimans and ZMF Planars for the first time.
They enable you to reach another level of comfort and more intimate experience with music.

Listening critically is a joy, particularly as a musician. Timbre for days. Brass trills and lip rolls are a thrill!
This headphone revels in close mic'd recordings.
They perform capably with mid-hall presentation recordings, what few of those remain.

I have not done a comparison of the Verum to the HD-650, and won't bother to. But I won't have to mod the Verums to coax out the sound and measured performance I want.

    The Verums just sound right.

May I ask if anyone is having the uncomfortable “vacuum seal” that seems to be common (at least for people with certain head shapes) with the LCD line? I wasn’t sure if the Verum sealed tight enough for that to be an issue (or if they have vents, etc.). I held off on the drop, but plan to order a pair through the site if the seal isn’t an issue for anyone.

I know that seal very well, didn't happen for me in any way with the Verum. For the LCD-2C the Dekoni Elite Velour "fixed" it for me along with other benefits. That "boxed in" bass for instance, the dipped upper mids and the deep pits of the treble changed for the better. Verum is superior in almost every way though and costs half the best price. HALF. Go for it.

Understandable, but, even given that there are multiple colour options, what are we going to get? Dozens of pics of the same headphones! Which will become thousands by the time nobody edits them out of their quotes.
Lovely photography, except I can't see the cat properly as something is in the way. ;)

The number of pictures in this forum showing the final product before my quoted comment: zero.
So I think it is a bit early to start worrying about the too many pictures.
The 21 likes under @m17xr2b's post also tells me that others enjoyed the pictures too.

In fact, I would find it beneficial to see pictures about the other color variations. It might be a help for those who want to buy it in the future. After all variations will have been shown, more pictures won't be loved.

Very preliminary report on my new Verum headphone.
Shipping box bashed in but headphones were fine. Fitting was easy.

Sound volume seemed to vary from one side to the other, taking turns on who would play the loudest.
I was using my MD THX AAA amp and decided to let them play for an hour unattended while listening to speakers.

I put them on around the end of Mountain Jam by the Allman brothers, a song I really enjoy and have listened to at least a thousand times. And so there was the bass line I was quite familiar with. Being a live recording I'd made some assumptions in prior listening that the teeny boom and soft, strong of the notes were normal.

So now I hear the truth of it. (pun intended) The bass was fast, string vibrations clear, chords easily discerned with individual strings easy to distinguish. The bass in this song is melodic for the most part and driving and prominent for short periods all of it rendered clearly .

I have heard bass guitar played this clearly at home only once in memory and that was a FM broadcast of A Billy Idol tune played thru Polk RTA 12C's (12" passive woofer) using a Dynaco ST410 ss amp designed by James Bongiorno (maybe the first First Watter) and built by a NASA engineer. Came thru as clear as if the guitar and amp were in my living room. That song had elevated bass and just jumped thru the powerful vintage setup.

I have not heard anything yet that I did not like from this headphone and am going to get back to listening.
But because the masses demand it, here ya go....

    Update
    Part I
So, my right driver kept cutting out, no volume at all. I checked the cables and discovered the 1/8" headphone connectors are stereo, not mono as would be expected. A continuity check showed the right driver connects at the tip, the left driver connects signal on the barrel and both have ground connected further down. The headphone female inputs showed continuity and I measured 15 ohm and 17 ohm for the 2 drivers. So it's all connected like it should be.

Twas the signal on the tip of the right connector that flaked out so I simply pushed harder and voila! Sounding great again. And it stays that way. I think when I hang them up the connector may get moved a bit and I will have to repeat the process.

On occasion, there is some static in the right driver, the solution is the same, push it in harder. It seems there is no more room for this but that last push completes the connection.

I like the utility of this cable. If the right tip was maybe 1/2 mm longer it would be perfect.

My he4xx cable works just fine with this phone and also uses stereo connectors. As I can only use 1 headphone at a time this works for me. I may diy for custom length. Will mono connectors work just as well as the stereo , do you think?

    Part II
Unless it's me, these headphones seem to get louder after they have been playing for a while. Possibly due to the drivers getting warmer during playback, decreasing the resistance.

Er, I got that backwards, resistance rises with temperature increase. Could they be becoming more efficient? Or maybe the amp is behaving differently after a period of time? I'll have to unbox some other amps or hook them up to phone to see if the volume change repeats itself. And maybe this is all just part of the break in process.

@bilboda sorry, I don't quite understand what's hapening from your post.
Drivers really are soldered in reverse phase polarity. Hifiman cable will work fine with them.
So what's current situation? Headphones are playing ok in both channels or it is some problem? If it is some problem - contact me, and we'll find a solution.

Sometimes all surface of box is covered with stamps ;) that happens when post office don’t have stamps of high value. And sure I’m waiting for your initial impressions.

May I ask why reverse polarity? I've always wondered why so many dual-sided planars do this

Membranes in Verum 1 are mirrored so to work IN phase I need to solder them in reverse polarity.
