Anyone got a BF2/64 board near Vancouver I can borrow? Willing to pay shipping both ways. Or should I make a post? Sep 22, 2024

@Michael Kelly congrats on the new release, but what about USB? Jason hinted at passing Unison output to a streamer maker...could it be?

There are a billion streamers out there, from $0.65 to $566,000 (some exaggeration here). All are compatible with UAC2. Which means we don't have do to one. I guess we could do one with Forkbeard integration, but I'm unconvinced.

I think a Wyrd 2 with Unison host, maybe a couple, would be a kiler product. And you could leave the streamers to the rest.

A Bifrost-sized Unison hub that provides multiple ports then repeats packets with Unison output could be pretty cool if it's able to give even more noise isolation than the current isolators.

That reddit thing turned out to be fake. Seems to be genuine deal with warranty

Don't want to be a conspiracy theorist but that reddit comment didn't seem fake, mentioning Unilateral Pricing Policy violation and sugarcoating it with community engagement. PR and all that. Really seems more like Focal saving face quickly.

Didn't agree with @purr1n about the engineering of Folklore being good cause half the songs were kinda weirdly grating.

So the watermark is only added to the Tidal stream?

I searched for watermarking updates. Looks like it affects certain Qobuz albums too. Some sources stated that Universal UMG had been re-uploading tracks without watermarks recently. Obviously I still think it's a huge problem. Even saw talk about watermarks in an HDTracks download, but the user was provided with the clean files afterward... So ridiculous. Watermarking accomplishes nothing for the labels.

Just went to the SIGGRAPH tech presentation for Google Pixel's SuperRes. Reminds me a lot of delta-sigma DACs.

Greetings Ash1412, I was wondering if you could say a bit more to your statement "the Gungnir Multibit is, IMO, way too big/overkill for the LP" on the all purpose thread. I also have the LP / Modi Multibit but with Auteur usually with CD transport. I was considering going to the Gungnir Multibit. What does too big/overkill mean? Thanks!

Its definitely the size (its meant for a rack/speaker rig so if you're using LP on desktop will be a long cable run or big-ass desk) and price (2x price of the LP) for the most part. However, according to many impressions here, Gungnir Multibit also seems to "scale" (more like actually showing its true resolve) up to much more expensive amps. Right now its pretty much the best value endgame DAC, if preferences align.

I'm not disagreeing with the pairing, more like saying that its probably better to hold out for a more competitive Bifrost and to hold out for more competitive DACs/headphones/amps in that price range in general, which used to be a complete no man's land until the LP, soekris and other stuff arrived, but is starting to shape into the sweetspot for pricing while still getting something on the cutting edge.

I.e. used HD800s are around that price these days while "cutthroat" cutting edge stuff is still going up in price since many manufacturers are on a high to innovate without giving a damn about the consumer base (who can afford). Sennheiser included (HD660S, HD820, still selling that pos HD700,...). You can hold out and get a DAC that should hopefully complete the HD800/LP/R2R trio or even HD800/LP/vinyl(Sol).

Tried Mobi and Vali 2 with Contact from RAM. Finally able to withstand the second half. This is simply magical!
