Happy new year does not apply to me. Losing a dear person in these times is too much. Tonight I go for music that speaks to the soul.

Decca - "Ton Koopman Plays Bach" from 2020.

This new Scary Pockets/Larry Goldings/John Schofield/MonoNeon cut dropped a few days ago. You might call it the ultimate cover: "Tacobell's Canon"

Schofield really tears it up with one of his "Let's take this to inner space" solo. I'm guessing John is there because of Larry & now they're enjoying the shit out of playing these great little funk ditties (most of which I'm guessing are written by Larry...could be wrong).

This is for my father. He passed away. He was a Catholic.

Spotify playlist Songs to Test Headphones With

I don't know if it is actually good for testing headphones, but it's actually a really nice diverse playlist! Everything from Elton John to Massive Attack to Nine Inch Nails.

Is it too late to name a band "Massive Attack With Nine Inch Nails"?

I dunno about the band name, but the remixing opportunities are intriguing. "I wanna f**k you like a teardrop on the fire."

I've never heard a note by either band (really)--but that comment is hysterical.

GASP! Massive Attack is one of my favorites, just beautiful music. Brought trip hop into the mainstream in the early 90's, but are so much more than those early origins. Lead member Robert Del Naja is widely believed to be artist 'Banksy'.

    Teardrop is an absolute classic...

Paradise Circus is my test track for female vocals...

And so many more. If you have any music subscription service, I'd highly recommend finding better quality streams than those Youtube vids.

I don't think it's humanly possible to sing the blues with more authority and power than this performance by Howlin' Wolf (with guitarist Hubert Sumlin):

After farewells, you have to recover. There is plenty of music.

The new song my Stromae is also exceptional. "L'enfer" is the kind of song that makes you feel more human.

George Barnes and Carl Kress from "Guitars Anyone" - just 2 guitars playing swing music.

And from "2nd George Barnes Quartet"
