It would be incredibly appreciated if we could get all the ZMF models categorized in one spot.

Maybe I'm an idiot but I've having a hard time keeping track of all the names, pads etc and what their sonic character are, how they relate to the more known HD650 etc (a staple on this forum anyways).

Chalk me up as another idiot. I am absolutely fascinated by ZMF products but I have no idea which is which. A reference cheat sheet to the product line would be mighty welcome.

A @purr1n style satanic hexagon thingy would be sweet to see one day, maybe soon if Marv gets to hear the newer ones.

As soon as we get our shipment in from ZMF (and the two new models a little later), I will make such a diagram.

I'll bring the new ones to Marv as well for measurements and his impressions. Maybe he'll make a diagram too.

    I dig that format.

Well, if this helps... ZMF dynamic headphones rated from thick/romantic to neutral, with my gooeyness factor** number beside each.

    Atticus (9)
    Nipples (7.86*)
    Aeolus (7.85)
    Eikon (4.5)
    Verite (4.0)
    Aeuter (3.0)
    Smooshed over-ripe banana (2.0)

    (Banana for scale.)

*Assumes functioning and lactating mammary gland.
** Gooeyness factor is logarithmic and has no basis in actual reality.

I'm a little slow, it took me a moment to understand your nipples.

@Elnrik doesn't over ripe banana belong at the top of the thick gooey scale so a 10? Just trying to get situated here. Maybe 2 anchors to flank your scale rather than just 1 haha. Unless you were referring to the banana rock hardness to capture thick romantic abilities as a 10.

No, putting peanut butter on your feet and letting your doberman lick it off tops the scale at 10.

    ... not that I know.

If it's a hairless cat instead of a doberman and vegemite instead of peanut butter, where does that fall on the scale?

Warm Vegemite or cold? Warm = 9.7, and my condolences to your cat.

The kitty farts must be epic.

Vegemite is a weapons grade foodstuff who's vile factor is rivaled only by lutefisk.

Don't worry, I'm sure it took @Elnrik's Doberman a long time to understand his nipples. You'll get there too eventually.

How much sound do the Verite leak? E.g. compared to HD650. Thinking about using them in the office.

Hard to tell leakage at show. But they are open headphones...probably a little less than a 650 but way more than closed.

Zach just makes it hard for me not to purchase his headphones.

From what I gathered in this thread:
    Aeolus
    1. As wide or a tad bit wider soundstage compared to the HD650
    2. Same signature as the HD650 but with more bottom end and more extension up top.
    3. Less mid bass hump but still keeps the sound of the Atticus.

Other questions that I hope you beautiful people can answer. How deep the sound stage is compared to the HD650 and is it faster (transients) than the HD650. Sound stage would be a plus but if it’s faster than the HD650 r.i.p my wallet.

See I was under the impression that the Auteur was the "true" HD650 successor...

Having owned the Atticus and the Auteur simultaneously, I prefer the former despite a general skepticism towards self-consciously “warm” headphones. So one thing I’d add is that the Atticus feels to me more like there’s a tilt in the frequency response, rather than a mid-bass “bump” (which to me implies some exaggeration and bleed that smothers the mids). The Atticus doesn’t lack clarity in the mids or the highs. You’re maybe sacrificing a smidge of micro-detail versus the Auteur (or something like the Focal Clear) in exchange for the bass slam of the Atticus, but that’s about it.

I wouldn't yet trust opinions on soundstage, given show conditions and Zach's choice of amps on display. Depth in particular will be tough to gauge. I plugged my HD650 into the same amps and didn't notice major staging difference between it and his headphones.

It probably has a similar amount of mid-bass as the HD650...in fact, it's probably like a modded HD650 without rear foam. It's a lush sounding headphone but a little more lively up-top than a modded HD650. Downside is the timbre may be a bit less smooth than the HD650, but that too was tough to gauge on the floor.

It might have had better bass extension. Probably does, but can't confirm definitively. I think that's what I heard. Now, as for quality, tough to say. Could have been the amps.
