Jude E-peens Tyll and Gaslights Us with Alternative Facts

It still boggles my mind that they will openly collude as admins to make sbaf disappear and their users accept that juvenile behavior.

 

Don't dislike Jude, don't even know him, but he is transparently engaging in opportunistic political spin and has become distastefully ruthless in that endeavor by besmirching Tyll. All of Jude's assertions are made to support a predetermined agenda regardless of what honest conclusions can be made by inquiring minds.

This is "dangerous" because it highlights a blatant contempt for the truth, which is already muddied by the subjective nature of this hobby. He would not be able to position himself as a middleman tastemaker in other high priced hobbies; that he can do so here is owed to the vulnerability of that subjective nature which is purposefully distorted. At that point, the line between sponsorship and scam blurs.

Each individual is responsible for spending their own money wisely, but it's far more difficult when armies of misinformed users are reinforcing the selections of the tastemakers... unaware that their choices are the result of advertising agendas and not quality. Deceiving people for profit is not admirable. I wonder how many people are ultimately led away, in frustration, from the emotionally rewarding experiences of beautiful music reproduction (at ~affordable cost) due to the avarice on display... aided and abetted by the confused.

Oh, ok. I can understand ev.... ok, yes, everyone has heard that joke too often now.

This thread, after the drama is over, assuming that it ever is, is a fantastic repository of some of the best information on measurements for dummies (of dummies and by dummies) that I have seen. It would be a hell of shame for it to be forgotten with the issue.

It would be great if the knowledgeable could compend (if that is what making a compendium is called) into a Basics; How to Do, How Not to Do.

I had the pleasure of calling this Jude glove puppet a "parasite" before exiting HeadFi. He shoves his face into many discussions that are critical of gear to expound on why it is all wonderful and we should all be ever so grateful that manufacturers even make such wondrous gear available for the unwashed masses to purchase. Totally inappropriate behavior from a retailer and only tolerated on a forum as monumentally cluster fucked as HF.

 

I'd like to hope some of his recommendations are good.. after all I did spend $400 on the TH-X00 lol

Then again I didn't just rely on him although he gave the initial pitch. I also came here for advice and honestly if I didn't have your input then I'm not sure if I would have purchased them.

 

SBAF is forbidden to be posted on Head-Fi. It seems too late to do that with InnerFidelity. I keep wondering if Jude's posts in the Z1R thread are intended to lessen the credibility of InnerFidelity/Tyll and help cut down one more voice that may be seen as competition.

This kind of thinking bugs me a lot. If people in this hobby were more discerning about what it takes for them to part with their money, everyone would be better off. Don't forget that people can have bad reasons for believing that a certain product is "worth it"; nervosa, upgradeitis, FOTM, etc.

 

Pretty f'ing low stuff from "Head-Fier greggf" as Jude would say on his stupid front page. That this has not been deleted (dated June 6th) on the grounds of offence to common decency disgusts me.

And I do not remember the last time I felt the need to use the f word online.

 

Funny thing, for Z1R price you can buy JBL LSR705P "master reference" active studio monitors, which are a mini pair of JBL M2, they even come with room correction capability and 500w of power per speaker, nothing extra, everything included in the 2k price per pair.
2K ain't enough money for the Sony as you need an external amplifier...

I REALLY DOUBT that the Sonys have more detail or better tonal balance than those JBL studio monitors, I expect a 2k headphone to perform like a 20k speaker in a perfect room...this is how much Head-fi and deaf people with more money than sense fucked up the headphone market.

 

If the post had contained anything critical of a site sponsor then it would have been deleted at warp speed and bans (or the threat of bans) dished out with abandon. Gotta remember what HF is all about - a money making vehicle for Jude - and doing that means promoting gear and protecting the sponsors. Consumers count for less than rat droppings, as does any remnant of decency or integrity.

 

I can't believe the SBAF mention didn't trigger some kind of auto delete bot. Sad how the pricing has gone. It wasn't that long ago people thought you were crazy to buy a $500 headphone. Now that's almost entry level.
