    Stop saying that, I am starting to have flashbacks. I grew up in old apartment building, in Europe by the way, and the girl next door was banging an old piano for three four hours a day, some demented etudes by Chopin. I spent more hours listening to live piano than you spent working. It still gives me nightmares and I can only listen to string quartets. That's why I feel safe here in Amerika. We live in houses and people own some serious firearms. No one would dare to a play a piano in my neighborhood.

    Yup, we're definitely a forum filled with troglodytes with zero knowledge of music or how it sounds.

    Forget that the majority of quality posters and 1/2-3/4 of the admins are classically trained in an instrument for at least a decade and have engineering degrees or at least completed university level engineering physics coursework as part of their degree.

    It's super easy to make broad assumptions about the dumb dumbs here because we choose to maintain a degree of levity that borders on (okay is completely) childish at times. Maybe it's because the people running this site are actually well adjusted human beings who don't take ourselves seriously? I'd rather create a culture of pranks and silliness over stodginess in a place I am going to frequent.

    I'm going to lock this thread. I was hoping @Hands would have his quick say and we'd just move on as usual. Totally not fair to Alvin who has been a class act. It's still entirely possible something was wrong with the PS. As I said earlier, thread title was changed to disassociate @Auditor since it's obvious he suffers from some serious cognitive disorders*, and is a nightmare to any designer or distributor of an audio product. I am sure this is the last thing Alvin wanted to happen.

    * Or he's a PRC spy, under the guise of a friend, out to destroy a Taiwanese product. Actually this seems more likely now that I think about it.

    It was a heavy morning, lots of heavy information to digest. (I actually woke up past mid night @ 1am SGT for a pee, and started reading this thread). Certainly, I didn't sleep well throughout the night; should not have checked my phone...

    Auditor is an emotional enthusiast who loves DENAFRIPS products. For the record, he upgraded from Ares to Pontus and recently the Terminator. He has strong believe in DENAFRIPS, and endorse DENAFRIPS in online forums and social media actively. His emotional, and defensive responses are definitely not what we wanted.

    As a MOT or if i may, representative of the manufacturer DENAFRIPS, we would never want to get involved or engaged with such outburst for one simple reason - any of this is doing more bad than good to our company. For every products, there odd to be like/dislike or love/hate situation. That's what made the industry vibrant and serves as an encouragement for the manufacturers to continuously improve and reinvent new products to suit the market needs. We are not communist, not in this age, to force everyone to like a single brand/product and monopolize the market. Life would be boring if we only have iOS without the rival Mr. Android, isn't it. Competition usually leads to greater invention and improvement, that certainly benefit the consumes like us.

    I'm certainly sadden to learn that @Torq is highly disincline to post his impression on the Pontus due to this rant. Torq did share with me his initial impression on the Pontus, the impression was a good and encouraging one with very impressive micro details that Torq put into writing in the chat. If i could, @Torq, may i ask your kind permission to reconsider posting it? That would certainly clear the air to ease things.

    @alvin1118 You seem like a good person, and I hope you understand that while my impressions were 100% honest from my subjective viewpoint, I have nothing against you or Denafrips (or fans of Denafrips!). I find lying or sugar coating my thoughts to be a worse treatment even if it makes someone feel better, so I can be blunt in my feedback.

    As I said, if indeed something is discovered wrong with that Pontus unit, I would be happy to start clean with a new review. But that still doesn't mean I will be guaranteed to favor it despite an honest, fresh start if so.

    Obviously, what I don't like is people that act like @Auditor in our community and try to belittle us just for not liking what he or she might, and my patience was thin today for that sort of behavior. We unfortunately see a lot of that here. Again, nothing against you, the company, or fans. I think you are doing good work for the hobby and community and encourage even negative feedback about gear to not get you down.
