Just posted on HF for the first time in ages in the If you still love Etymotic ER4 thread. EtyDave is an Etymotic engineer and is providing some interesting info there on the new products announced at AXPONA 2016.

That was pretty good, though they the best was when someone trolled him by emulating his style, but going just far enough to make it clear it was satirical.

I would not be so fast to dismiss his claims. There may be good reasons why his external drive sounds like crap and one can be noise on the usb bus if he is using a usb ext hd. He may have just eliminated a source of crappy switching power supply noise that maybe running on the 5v and /or - to his computer during playback.

At least he lives a happy life preferring the KTXPRO1 to his "high end STAX system", or he listened to his STAX through his external drive?

 

Since when are 207's a "High end STAX system"?

 

When it's compared to the Koss KTXPRO?
