Yeah most people have desks too high and probably monitors too low. I think that’s one of the reasons standing desks are mostly pretty thin, so you can get them low enough
I also have it on an arm: swung out in front of me, almost over my legs, feet up on the desk. So I am not one to speak with authority on any sort of posture! Except mine, I suppose.
Seriously, though, my Ergotron arm assembly (with an extra segment) is possibly the best computer upgrade I ever made.
On the topic of monitors: mine's got a good range of height adjustment and is on a platform so it's easy for me to hit the "top of screen is level with eye w screen angled upwards" target, but while that works for general use and typing a lot, I find I prefer to raise the monitor a bit higher and keep it close to 90° for games. More immersive
Monitor height is not the main issue for me as I can always add more books. Rather the keyboard on the desk is too high and it’s causing some carpal tunnel type issues. From what I read ideally your arms should be floating with wrists off the surface. Sort of like playing piano
