Direct to disc big band classics recorded last year... It's pricey at $70 for the two disc set (one D2D one from the tape so you can compare) but WOW, what a killer recording. The band is amazing and the sound is AMAZING.

New phono stage - couple of new records to listen to. A Blue Note classic Wayne Shorter - Speak No Evil in an all-star lineup. Monk in Paris - havnt heard it yet, but really looking forward to what the world was like in 1969.

One of the weirdest looking dudes who ever played piano is also one of the best. While the sound is pretty dated with the dorky midi drums and the keytar weirdness, this album really feckin smashes.

This Beck album hanging out on the Zana Deux is very good (a must have if you're into chilling out and relaxing). I picked up the German pressing as it's supposedly a cleaner cut (UPC is 602537 649747).

Also managed to find some Getz/Byrd... Jazz Samba DCC edition with all tube mastering by Hoffman; and Jazz Samba Encore from Japan. The sax and guitar riffs get caught up in my head very often.

If I used all the words I want to describe this pic with, I'd probably get banned. This is just plain sexy right here.

Oh this colored / splattered vinyl is definitely fun to spin!!

This is the Alanis Morissette - The Demos 1994 - 1998, Record Store Day 2016 release. Great listen!

All those Allen keys take away from the picture :) I've been dialing in the Kuzma 4 point....played with dampening and no more woofer pumping at all now! I can finally turn up the music :)

My latest acquisitions, to go with the pre-order of A Moon Shaped Pool:

I lucked out and even though my copy of OK Computer is a US Capitol release, it has the superior Parlophone pressing inside.

It's on the label of each disc, it will either have the Capitol or the Parlophone logo. The Parlophone issues are considered superior to the Capitol issues (I read somewhere the Capitol may not have the ability to press AAA records and all of their releases go through a digital stage, but I can't confirm that). Apparently around 2008 Capitol stopped pressing their own copies of OK Computer and began putting the Parlophone pressings in the sleeves instead. For some reason they only did this with OK Computer, all of the other Radiohead albums released by Capitol (everything before In Rainbows) continued to be pressed at Capitol for the US releases.

Sadly, the reverse happened with Kid A. After the first pressing in the EU, they switched all releases worldwide to the Capitol versions, and it's difficult to track down a UK first pressing.

Apparently even the XL Records releases sound better from the UK, guess they're just using better pressing plants over there. The moral of the story is if you want Radiohead on vinyl, it's best to find a UK/EU pressing whenever possible.

Popped my vinyl cherry with this baby today. Huge Bonobo fan, very organic sounding electronic music. How does it sound? Smooth as ice, and even on my entry level table, still sounds phenomenal. Layering, imaging, soundstage... all top notch. Perfect way to get into analog; I plan to collect all his LPs.

Thanks for the info Merrick... I pulled my copy of Kid A this morning and it's the Capitol version, but sounds great. The vocals and crazy horns on The National Anthem bring me right back. Maybe I lucked out, or maybe I'll have to find the UK cut and enjoy it even more :D
