What do you guys think? $230 with Free shipping is pretty cheap, too cheap. Particularly from someone in Russia with no feedback...

    I mean, PayPal protection right?

Ugh, finding a new dap is not easy. We need a Schiit in the dap world.

    never. and luckily so.
DAPs should go the way of the dodo- folks (likely) have a computer/smartphone in their pocket.
good enough until transporting to a desktop rig.

completely understand. hoping you can find a mobile DAC/Amp perhaps. or less sensitive transducers.
mobile rigs are certainly a highly personal selection and/or priority.

In case it's not obvious, this is a Hugo 1 (v2). Not a Hugo 2.

The only difference I'm aware of is that the Hugo 1 (v2) had enlarged RCA ports as the originals were too small for a surprising number of cables.

Definitely wasn't obvious. Who the hell came up with those naming conventions anyways? At least it's not as bad as the Sennheiser 5xx suite though..

    Confusing?
555 is like the 600, 518 is a lower number, and is worse, 519 is a newer version of 518, 558 is 3 higher than 555, but is not as good at all, 559 is new 558, 579 is in between 558/9 and 598/9, in number and quality, but again is higher than 555, but worse than 555, 598 is about the same as the 558, with just a little foam thing, though its only 2 away from 600, and 43 above 555, it is not as good as either one, 599 is newer version of 598, but again, despite the fact it is only 1 away from 600, its not close to it, and the 45 away 555 is much closer, 598c is a closed back 598.
    Not confusing at all.

    EDIT: Everywhere I said 555, I meant 580.

It's really not that hard guys...

The first number denotes the overall family of headphone with a similar chassis (typically the higher the "better"), the second number is the "model" within that family (a higher number is NOT necessarily better), the third number indicates the generation (but does not correspond directly with that number... the 555, 558 and 559 are the 1st, 2nd and 3rd generation respectively).

    555 doesn't fit in. 555 has 600 chasis

    EDIT: 580, not 555

Um... you mean the 580? That's the only blip on the lineup, but everyone knows the 580 became the 600 family afterwards.

Anyhow, this is the used deals thread... here are a bunch for the Canucks:
