Thank you very much! In fact I am midfi audiophile so my possible contribution is limited. My only real unique experience is that I think I achieved a very good DIY desktop speaker build and I have some clues on how to DIY speakers specifically for desktop nearfield. I should indeed find an avatar good idea.

I _did_ have the distortion, I fixed it fully with the passive crossover, the parallel notch filter was the key. I've learned that the difference a crossover can make is enormous.

I mean even in your fixed state there's D3 all over the midrange. I would love to see spinorama type measurements, but generally I agree. The crossover is what makes the speaker.

I am too lazy to repeat full off axis measurement of W6 after my crossover, but I did it with a naked woofer. It is uniform up to 2.5 kHz

I am looking for a forum where I won't be ridiculed for saying I prefer Hi Res music to CD 16/44.1

What theveterans said. I don't think the differences will be much discernible at all to most folks running typical gear, but for well-made things that allow you to run NOS, it's appreciable. I prefer the sound of the Schiit twentydollarsuperfootlongmegacomboburrito to high res on NOS myself, but it's all preferences.

        Consider yourself ridiculed.

By a deaf old guy who can't even hear bird song without hearing aids. But hey, it's a point I used to argue. So... Just for old times. And, anyway: this is SBAF, so you have to be ridiculed for something :)

I firmly believe that measurements cannot replace listening tests, but can help with simple things like frequency response.
