Thanks. Now if anyone feels the need to send me a retirement gift (Studio Jr.) I would definitely feel embarrassed. But I wouldn’t want to offended anyone by sending it back. :)
To this day there are teachers I've had from primary and high school that I still think about, though some I can't talk to anymore. One guy in particular flipped his shit because the class wasn't paying attention then he yelled about how much he spent on teaching materials that he personally didn't need— that shut us up and it's stuck with me since.
Another one, my Filipino teacher in primary, knew I was horrible with the language (ha-ha yes) and gave me pointed hints at what to review for finals. Maybe that was cheating, but I did well in the class and didn't lose honours. Perhaps my moral code is compromised, but I maintain that was more kindness than laziness on her part.
School isn't a "natural" environment, and kids definitely feel that. f**k, I still do. It's good teachers that make learning truly fun and make a difference in people's lives, not just teaching curriculum but also teaching how to be human (IMO, IME, AFAIK, etc). I'm stopping before I get teary eyed :))
