Being in Detroit could be killing you as well.

I lived there for over 20 years so it's home to us. Besides, we would live south west of the city itself, like Bellville or Romulus, and commute 15-20 mins via 94. It's a great area with nice homes on big plots of land, but close enough for standard utilities.

My dad grew up there and moved back with my mom when I was 20. He lives in Detroit, not far from Greenfield Village. I grew up in Youngstown Ohio, but going back to Detroit has kind of been going home for me, too. All kidding aside, I hope she gets the job!

Small world. I’m from Youngstown, Ohio, too. My wife is from Oak Park, just outside Detroit, and we met at UMich.

Depending on the house we buy I might be doing allot of renovation myself, so I'm not too worried about finding a job just yet.
