Girls who turned you down, coincidentally, make the best fish bait. Something I learned growing up so close to the Kennedy compound. Just putting that out there.
She always was hard-to-get. The feelings were not mutual. I impressed her but it was not enough. I no longer feel as shy as I used to be. I am out of fucks to give. You like someone, tell a good joke or story and see where it takes the two of you.
Knowing what you want, knowing what will actually work for you, stepping up, reading the person, not taking it hard if necessary--these are all muscles to build.
Hard-to-get is rarely as satisfying after a few months of having got. Find the person you click with and it's so much better. Good fortune and best wishes!
Here is the thing. I strive to do the utmost. If I cannot impress myself with it I find it hard to motivate myself with it. Without some challenge there is no enjoyment for me. I am still grinding through French because for some reason I still enjoy it. I still write poetry because it is f'ing hard to improve. I am a hopeless romantic and need the adventure.
Do not let your soul be trained out bro. It is hypocritical to say that all the mess that follows is absolutely necessary. Later when you hit bottom the hypocrites say you are weak! Keep it real and do not lean into bs (negative outcomes).
Girls can be thoughtless. I don't think they realize how difficult it is for someone to summon up the courage to ask them out.
Don't let a rejection bring you down, keep cheerfully asking other girls. There are several lovely ones just waiting for your paths to cross and to meet you.
