That is the version I saw, but I think I saw some weird version. Because the version I saw had the happy ending, but it was a weird cut to get to it. They were leaving the apartment, saw the foil unicorn, got in elevator, then sudden cut, cutting in the middle of the music, to them driving away through the natural landscape.
There was another weird cut somewhere in the middle too, I think it was were the unicorn dream was supposed to be. It seems like I got the directors cut without the voiceover, but then the took away the dream scene and added the happy ending scene...
It is Ridley's "how do I top Star Wars special effects" the movie based on a book written by fellow with possibly severe mental issues. Then he decided half way into filming that Deckard was replicant and ham fisted it in. I wouldn't try to look into it too much. Sounds like you watched the original cut with no voiceover.
You seem to have watched some sort of bootleg. No voiceover, no unicorn dream, but happy ending? Doesn't match up to any of the 5 official versions. Final Cut is my favorite version. No voiceover, full unicorn dream, all the action/violent scenes, and no happy ending.
