    I'm easily a noob compared to many on here as far as listening experience and skill goes, but as far as I'm concerned the differences between DACs *are* appreciable, albeit certainly less so compared to amps and headphones, let alone the actual quality of recordings.

    On a related note, headphone cables do make a fair difference, as I recently noticed playing around with the cheapos I have lying around. Shit.

    Hearing ability doesn't matter at all imho. Those who generate 'shits' based on dac difference or indifference should go away from this place. In other words, those who deserves reddit/asr/headfi should stay on their home grounds.
