Technology marches on, I can not wait for HD800 performance at AirPods prices in 2030 :P

    Congrats on the upgrade!

I think it absolutely applies to audio. The performance you can get for pocket change is crazy these days. HD650s for under $200? Insane value.

Well sure but it's not like the 650s are new technology and they're kind of a rare exception. We do have more choices nowadays but TOTL headphones, 650s aside, still cost alot

Yep, and so do TOTL televisions. And it's not a perfect analogy...different tech that evolves at different rates. My main point is that any price point today can get you better sound than it used to.

What did you get? I Just got a 55" LG UM7300 at Costco. Coming from an old 42", it almost feels too dang big despite places saying I need a 65".

TCL 55R617. And yeah, it's a small-ish room, so it feels gigantic, haha.

Viewing distance for 4k isn't the same as it is for HD (1080). Our 42" 4k in the bedroom seems perfect at a 9' viewing distance, but the 65" HD in the living room seems small at 12' viewing distance.
