For the fighting games alone, yeah.

Sega had the best fighting games. Not joking. Nintendo wanted orange blood. Nintendo had Smash Bros but sometimes you really want that fatality or perfect finish.

Genesis MK games had the best speed, but MK II SNES was the place to be back in the day. More colors and blood flowing like wine.

Just pulled the trigger on a PC Engine mini from Amazon Japan. Had the original (way better form factor and available years before the TG16), bought from a Hong Kong game shop in Vancouver that I also previously obtained a Famicom, and the Nintendo disk drive.

PC Engine games of note, R-Type (epic side scroll schmup), Galaga 88 (mind blowing graphics at the time), Bomberman, Wonder Boy in Monster Land (Bikuri man, also near perfect arcade port), Kato and Ken (using farts as weapons, fuuuuuuck), 1941, 1943...

Briefly had TG16 (traded for Genesis) Had the weird pack in, and Legendary Axe -- really liked that game (and remember the carts were credit cards!). R-Type is awesome.
