If you like him, try the music from his original band, Japan. Gentlemen Take Polaroids and beyond are their best stuff.

Thanks — very 80s-ish, e,g. Duran Duran with a little Roxy Music thrown in :)

I have enjoyed all of Sylvian’s output but especially David Sylvian/Robert Fripp - Damage w/ Trey Gunn, Pat Mastelotto and Jerry Marota. Good album.

@DigMe You had me at God’s Monkey (first track). Now I’m wandering through Fripp & Eno. I love Spotify!

f**k me, @DigMe I just listened to Damage today before I read your comment. Also Fripp was on various Sylvian solo albums, Gone To Earth is one of my favorite solos of his. Shit, even Mick Karn's solo albums are quite solid and quite amazing bass playing.

Yeah Karn has some decent stuff. Fripp originally asked Sylvian to be in the early 90’s incarnation of King Crimson but he declined. They went on to record those duo albums together with other future Crimso members.

As I recall there were 2 versions of Damage released. 1 mixed under Fripp’s guidance that Sylvian thought didn’t feature his vocals enough. He mixed his own version to his satisfaction. I have the Fripp-mixed 24k limited edition.

I have the standard CD of that, I guess that is more of the Sylvian mix?

Possibly, there are several versions of each mix if I’m not mistaken. They’re both good though.
