I just changed a big cap in the QS and went to flip it on and it blew the 1A fuse trying to get it charged up.

I have 3 right now. :)

Ten years in on tube amps and I’ve never blown a fuse. Fuses only blow in my presence when I want to listen the Stellaris… people on this forum always want to put a fishy tube in right before I get to listen to it. I might own a Stellaris instead of 2 EC amps if it wasn’t for members blowing fuses at meets. (This has happened at three meets with the Stellaris for me)

I keep spare fuses around. You never know if a rectifier might suddenly decide to arc and cause damage.

@Vansen I think people see the Stellaris and want to go full idiot tube roll mode without checking specs

@Vansen And Stellaris almost didn’t happen at the Corpus meet if it was not for the quick thinking of me and @famish99. He got the fuse out and I helped locate a suitable rectifier tube at Guitar Center. A somewhat suitable fuse was located at Home Depot.

My only problem with keeping spares is that I keep misplacing them and end up ordering new ones anyway.

@joch I was also about to say, "Know where they are as well." lol. Easy to misplace those little guys.

Keep them with the 3.5 to 6 mm adapters. Or maybe with the 6 to 3.5 mm adapters.

Either way, you can be sure.
