My wonderful spouse is 30 days past leg and ankle surgery. She was making very good progress when she had an accident with her knee scooter. You guessed it. She broke the other foot. We spent part of her birthday at the clinic. Now she has a cast one foot and a boot on the other.
Being primary caregiver 24/7, taking care of two cats and the household as a solo act is a little like playing domestic god. There aren't enough hours in the day. When I get moments free I tend to fall asleep where ever I am. Our offspring are helping as they can.
Needless to say, when I have free moments I selfishly indulge myself in either sleep or enjoying music from rather fabulous systems. Nitsch has seen a lot of duty.
When the heart emoji came along I was wondering what good that is for, saw your comment and it became clear to me, only to find out it isn‘t available for status messages. All the best to both of you.
Take care Bob! I wish you and your family the best.
When I was taking care of my wife (and twin kiddos) during her battle with breast cancer it was incredibly hard, but very rewarding to provide her with whatever small comforts I could.
Being a caregiver is a selfless act but can drain you. Take care of yourself!
You may not be the superman, but you're her superman. Hang in there Bob!! And those moments of respite are deserved - make them count! Best wishes and be well soon!!
thank-you all for the good thoughts and suggestions.
Superman ripped his shorts today. Process to transport from bed to bathroom is complicated involving safety procedures to avoid falls. Now imagine urgency due to gastrointestinal distress demanding rapid response 5x in 30 minutes. What a workout. Sweating harder than a 1 hr speed walk. Successful so far.
