Not at all, HD800(s) actually has deep extremely articulate bass instead of a midbass bump :P.

The HD800S is a good headphone in the right set-up. Can you justify its price tag? If you can, enjoy!

I prefer the bass in my 800SDR compared to my 650. Cleaner and reaches a little deeper. Slams in the right setup.

@MrTie that makes sense, I think the massive soundstage helps locating the bass notes better too. So far not that impressed with 650, need to get modding.

@Deep Funk I think HD800S are the first headphones where the price tag seemed justified to me from the word go. Can you believe these were an impulse buy? I went to just "try out" a bunch of headphones and ended up purchasing them. Walked around the block outside the store a few times thinking about what I just did. Had to sell most of my other audio stuff to recover the money, totally worth it.

Sometimes a headphone sounds right and you are done. It is really that simple. I cannot part with my PortaPro for instance. I have better headphones but still, it sounds so right.
