What?? I cannot wrap my head around that. Is he absolutely sure that he doesn't have some kind of infection or something? I can't wrap my head around getting lockjaw from damaging your hearing.

You and me both, @DigMe . Gah, just thinking of what it might have sounded like makes me cringe! And he's laying the blame on the pursuit of "hi-fi" sound. I'm just wondering what he's on to make a statement like that.

Also, as I assume SPL was high enough to cause significant physical damage, the notion that he could have gotten an infection from resultant damage doesn't seem so incredible.
