I'm reserving judgement until I hear it. I know this isn't FOTM club.

I should send you spiral dots to try.

I'll let you measure it. I can't find a ruler at my desk.

I brought these to work and I have been using them throughout the day. How many IEMs or headphones have I done that with in the past year? But yes, you should hear them first.

Thank Allah that Ken Ball still has his ear drums in tact unlike certain rock stars that make IEMs for their fellow deaf drummers.

I do hear that the JH stuff sounds better if you do a few lines of coke before you try to stick 'em in.

You've tried the Jupiter before, correct? Did you try the stock silicone tips? The Spiral Dots I received (Medium) remind me of the stock supplied medium silicone tips. The shape is almost identical and the material even seems pretty close. The Spin Fits are a bit different though. The included Comply tips are the only ones that really alter the FR enough to become and issue.

So, what's the general consensus on brands that actually have one or two good products? CA, Noble, Ue?

How's the air compared to full size headphones or speakers? I know my UERMs drop off a cliff after around 15kHz.

I dunno, I enjoyed the OG JH13s and still do. But their FOTM from 2009 was a bit much and I don't like their latest offerings.

Still I'd love to see people offload their HD 800s and SR-007s and HE-6s in droves for the Andromeda (if only to depress the secondary market). :p

Same thing here. IEM technology has its downsides. Last half octave is missing. I'm getting old, so I probably won't notice in ten years.

That's pretty much my plan. No headphones. Just speakers for home and IEMs for travel / work. A big plus if said IEMs are easy to drive from a small portable. Carrying bricks around gets tiring. I've had my phone or Sony X in my pocket all day.

Let me double check with proper authorities. I want to limit this one more than the Jupiter if and when it goes ahead.

CIEM would have been better for my wallet. There is one less obstacle preventing me from ordering one now...

If the fitment is the same as the Orion then I'll be extremely tempted to get the universal...... I can wear the orion for hours with foam tips, with silicon tips the fit is so good that after a few hours I can actually see condensation on the metal nozzle from my ear.

    Kinda gross but neat.

I get longer wear times with these than I do my customs. They are a shallow fit compared to most my other IEM collection.

From when I talked to Mr. Ball at the last CanJam, he said they aren't going to offer customs. Makes sense given the existing product line. Things always change though.....

One of the things I liked about the Jupiter is that it reminded me of listening to the HD650 or speakers. You can listen and listen and listen.

I found the Jupiters surprisingly comfortable for all the hard angles they have. Somehow CA has achieved aesthetics, ergonomics and bomb proofing in a single housing design. Earsonics SM3 v1 have similar hard angles and similar size but were far less comfortable. Heck, even the smooth housing UM3X was less comfortable.
