^ Same. Will pick it back up when the Marvel shows start getting released. Also, on the California scenery conversation, how is this even the same country as Ohio?

The Criterion Channel for $99.99 if you do the yearly subscription is one of the best deals in streaming for me. I already watched eight films and there's TONS to chose from. Both the Criterion licenses available to stream and the random titles that Criterion get limited streaming rights from the other movie studios.

And they also buy a lot of drugs too. :p

On a serious note: I notice a lot of OH vehicles hogging up the roadways here in Jax, FL.

We're generally happy to be any place outside of Ohio that's not named Michigan.

Ouch, my boss is in Michigan. Care for New York? I can tell you the stories of the people who escaped New York by the name of Snake.

Many years ago, my wife worked at a place in Ann Arbor that housed the homeless and assisted them with life skills and job training. Those homeless people who were incorrigible or violent were given bus tickets to California. Yep, she flat out admitted this to me.

In California, volunteers bake pie for the homeless. These pies are eventually expelled as human feces on San Pedro street.

El Lay is a piece of shit city. Actually, most Left Coast cities are. It's an embarrassment. When I go to foreign lands and people there ask my about honeymooning on the West Coast, I always recommend that they avoid El Lay and instead visit Zion, Bryce, the Grand Canyon, Monument Valley, etc. It's my understanding that SF also has a feces problem.

Oh, and last time I visited the Van Nuys government buildings (superior court, county registrar, city attorney, etc.) there was a ton of puke all over the sidewalk with no one bothering to clean it up. I know it's Van Nuys, but geez, have some pride in keeping the areas around public government buildings clean and beautiful. The city hall building is actually quite stunning, built in the 30s in Art Deco style.

Marv just doesn't want you guys moving here and adding more traffic.

LA has half the population of Canada. It's more a region than a traditional city. Parts of it look pretty third world, no doubt. I could say the same about Cincinnati, Philly, Vancouver, etc, etc ... Where LA is good though, it's Awesome.

You should be like the other Californians, they escape Eastward all the way down to Florida. Flat, uber humid, and not too crazy ATM.

Yeah, that photo could have been East Hastings St.

Well, maybe not - the people usually leave their tents a couple of blocks north in Oppenheimer Park.

I may have no choice. California is finally beginning to lose the big taxpayers. At some point, the government will the lack revenue to pay for their friends, I mean high-speed rail*, I mean awesome free world class museums like the NY Met, I mean brand new spiffy roads, ahem - I mean great social programs. The argument beforehand was that soaking the rich didn't seem to make them want to leave. (Note that the middle class are already getting crushed).

I did a job on West Hastings, at the time there was a Cactus Club around the corner at Coal Harbor. I had East Hastings in mind when I mentioned Vancouver. And Vancouver is maybe the prettiest city I've ever seen.

Yep, I'm aware of the prices. Huge demand for folks leaving Cali. I know someone from my Libertarian Party Meetings who sold his San Diego home for $700k and was able to get great near waterfront property at Jacksonville Beach for $400k. Even without Prop 13 he is saving tons of money. He hated how humid it is in FL, everything is flat, and urban sprawl is getting a lot worse here. However, there's some major trade offs (a lot less tax bill, still have decent prices to own a home, etc.).

Downside is incomes are on the lower side in FL than the rest of the nation. I'm making decent income in FL, but housing cost are going up every time I get a nice raise. : / I blame those who are moving in from all over the country for raising the housing price. Oh well, supply and demand.

Back to paying $400 for headphones, I don't mind.

Yeah. You don't want Californians spreading their high-taxation and government non-accountability values to TX.
