Gungnir Multibit Loaner

@recarcar thanks for the offer, very generous of you! 2-3 days isn't enough for me, so I will have one coming soon...

 

I'm looking for a noticeable upgrade from my ODAC. I found through 4 hard days of listening the Bifrost Multibit that it was not distinguishable to me from the ODAC, so I'd like to go up the DAC chain and trial the Gungnir. The 4 day Bifrost Multibit trial was great but a lot of work (I did non sighted listening) - that's why I decided to buy a Gungnir MB and be able to listen without any time pressure..

Generous offers from @recarcar and @velvetx to share with me despite not being on the list however, so much thanks to you guys - but this will give you guys more time too

 

Any recommendations for an inexpensive but decent XLR cable to use with this?

Would it benefit anybody downstream of me if I included two short monoprice XLR cables in the box? Specifically these http://www.monoprice.com/product?c_id=115&cp_id=11509&cs_id=1150902&p_id=4749&seq=1&format=2

I'd like to try the Gungnir Multibit balanced, and as silly as it seems, having these two cables sitting around at home not being used will illogically cause me to buy a Gungnir Multibit (still may buy it of course if I really like it, just don't need any external pressure from two unused cables). Plus if I do get a Gungnir Multibit, I'd like to make my own cables for it in the future, but don't have time to do that for this loaner.

Let me know if these (or a different, similarly priced pair) would benefit you and I'll throw them in the Gungnir Multibit box

 

Sure thing, if there is interest, will put them in bubble wrap, bubble mailer, or something to that effect

 

In my case, I don't have a balanced setup - so I have no need for the cables - however if they are included in the box when I receive the Gungnir Multibit loaner, I'll just leave them in the box since I won't be using them.

 

I'd love it if you included some XLR cables in there. It would save me from buying some that I really have no need for since my balanced setup is fully integrated.

 

Done, will buy those tonight and safely pack them in the box. 1.5ft okay for you? The 3 footers are just pennies more if it helps your setup organization. I'm stacking with a Mjolnir 2 so anything works for me

 

If you can fit the 3 footers, that would actually be ideal. If you want, I can gift you the cost of one of the two cables!

I'd prefer not to stack the Gungnir Multibit on the Master-11 since the latter can get pretty toasty already.

 

Assuming the Gungnir Multibit is packed just like the Mjolnir 2 (a good assumption I think) there's about two inches of clearance above and below the unit, will fit easily. I will make sure to pack them safely of course.

I cannot imagine that anyone would object to two cables being present in the box, as long as they are bubble-wrapped (or equivalent), as Sphinxvc requested.

Which reminds me - just curious as to what happened to the original power cord that was provided by Schiit when it was purchased?

 

AH I just saw I will be receiving the Gungnir Multibit loaner right before I ship to you @PoochZag and since I do not have a balanced setup, the cables would do me no good anyway - but it will be nice for others who do have use for them.
