Haven't heard it. I've read it's pretty bassy. I can't imagine even more laid back!

Really want to hear the ATH-LS2000 now. Sounds like they made some incremental improvements over the IM02.

Being someone with a FutureSonics MG6pro that didn't have the 3k-4k issues you had, given the other elements of the sound, what would you suggest to try next? Even after many attempts I haven't found something to steal my heart, although the discountinued FitEar C435 came closest.

(I got quite busy with life after that and didn't really keep track with all the developments, and find myself overwhelmed with possible choices causing inertia...)

Hi @shotgunshane I heard a lot about JVC HA FX1100/1200 IEM recently. Have you heard this IEM before? I am quite keen to try this and would love to hear your impression if you tried it before. Some say that it is one of the best single DD IEM that has unique wooden dome driver but it is not on your recommended list so love to hear your impression of possible... Thank you..

Bass on JVC woodies is too bloated and slow too earn them a place on @shotgunshane's recommended list. This can be mitigated with mods, but Shane's evaluations refer to stock IEMs. Personally, I'd agree that these woodies are among the best single DD IEMs, mainly because of their unique timbre. However, imo that's something that benefits some genres (classical, folk, acoustic, jazz) more than others (rock, metal, electronic).

I've heard most of the JVC wooden dome driver models and would recommend the newer FW01 model over the FX1100/1200, since it has the best tonal balance of all woodies so far (it's still a somewhat bassy IEM though).

Are you wanting to stay in a bassy signature? Warrior might be a good resource, he's tried many of the top basshead universals.

The 850 and 1100 are basshead audiophile iems in my book. While strings have a realistic reverberation, everything is too heavy and rich to have a natural timbre to my ears. However, if that's the type of sig you are looking for, they do it very well.

The new models that James mentioned seem like they might be a better option, since they would be less bassy than the 850/1100. I haven't heard them but would expect better timbre from those.

I'm fine with trying different stuff, Coke is delicious but one hungers for a new taste now and then. C435 was that for me, but it was freshly discontinued when I finally managed to hear it. :/

I suspect I might like CA's line, but they have quite a number of options, gotta find a good day to go down and give them a try.

CA makes great stuff. If you can visit them and demo the line-up, that's the way to go. Dorado and Vega would be worh a try. You still get the dynamic driver bass but brighter and airier signatures.

I've not heard the C435, so I'm not sure what kind of signature that is.

curious about the fender iem lines especially the Fender FXA7 Pro.
I saw my all time favorite indian music composer having aurisonic iems in one of this concert and since then I'm curious about aurisonics... and so fender!

Hmm, C435 is probably more aptly described as a near perfect take on a Miracle/F111. It's on the neutral side, extended evenly in both ends, with a hint of sweetness in the mids, and astonishingly good soundstaging for BAs. Has extremely well controlled treble with sparkle. (I find most IEMs people call sparkly hot instead, but the C435 is the first I'd say sparkle without being hot)

Don't have a good opinion of the Aurisonic series at all myself, from the ASG1, ASG1.5, to the ASG2. Haven't heard the new line however.

Try the MG5pro, it's another flagship with a different bass and more balanced tuning overall (hiflight has it as well as me and he likes his as much or even more than the vega).

    Try the Vega!

My favorite Aurisonics are the 1Plus and the Rockets, but greatly favoring the 1Plus.

The new fender lineup uses smaller dynamics than the ASG line. While still bass forward, the smaller driver lacks the effortlessness of the Aurisonics line. The Fender models are refined and fairly polite sounding in general. The FXA7 has a W shaped signature. Moderatley elevated bass with small rebounds in the middle midrange and lower treble. It's a really easy, somewhat relaxing listen that's vocal centric.

That sounds pretty nice. I'd like to hear that.

Speaking of Aurisonics, how does the ASG-2 compare sig-wise with the 1plus?

It's been a long time since I've heard the ASG-2 but I remember it being a good bit stronger in bass quantity, with a fuller lower mid and more recessed upper mid. While this makes the 2 a little more V shaped, the psychoacoustic effect was more intimate male vocals.

Got the Rosie. Somewhat disappointed. I suppose I need something with better bass, a more forward,'in your head' vocals and sparkly treble that's not so sibilant. Goddamn Rosie is sibilant.
    I am thinking Roxanne next
