Oh nice, definitely interested. I've not really seen him comment on it. @sorrodje was your UMIK calibration reasonably accurate out of the box?

Everyone with a measurement rig, get in on this. I also secretly believe that @Marvey's calibration isn't 100% accurate. Would be nice if he could check.

I have a measurement rig. Dont know how good my coupler is at the moment, but seems good.

    I would be interested if
A: I would be aloud despite the fact im not a friend
B: Somone would tell me how to use this to calibrate my mic

Very easy to use. you put the mic in the hole of the calibrator, use your software as a soundmeter, put the Calibrator ON at 94db and check if your mic measures 94db . if not you need to change you calibration. :)

Actually would that even work with the little small mic I have, I made the one in the guide in the measurement section

Would certainly like to try the calibrator once it is making its way around in the EU.

I acquired one of those for rough field work. Don't like to take my calibrated Bruel & Kjaer 4231 out of the lab. For what it's worth, Scantek calibrates my 4231 and mics:
    http://scantekinc.com/
When compared, the ND9 was off by approximately 0.7 dB at 94 dB SPL @ 1000 Hz. It also doesn't compensate well over temperature range. Hey what do you want for $115. But it does hold calibration over time, at the temperature which it was calibrated, pretty well.

If it makes its way to me, I will be happy to run a calibration check against my 4231 using ACO 7046 mic capsule on a Josephson C617 body. I can also bring calibration into spec if desired.

Made me think about running a calibration check today on the ND9. it had been a year since I last checked my ND9.
    Here are the results.

    Conditions:
    17.8 deg C
    56.9 % RH
    1010 hPa

    Summary:
ND9 as found measured 93.4 dB SPL with battery at 8.757 Vdc
ND9 as left calibrated to 94.0 dB SPL with battery at 8.757 Vdc
    replaced battery
ND9 as found measured 93.9 dB SPL with battery at 9.552 Vdc
ND9 as left calibrated to 94.0 dB SPL with battery at 9.552 Vdc

@ultrabike, let us know when you receive. I'm guessing we can get this back home within 2-2.5 months.

As suggested by @sphinxvc, I will try and be the proxy from there on.

I'm not a friend yet, but I was wondering if I could participate in this loaner (on its European leg). On @atomicbob's recommendation I got myself a Leaton DL1351, and I'd love to be able to calibrate it.

If it helps, here's my trader's feedback on HF.
