    Astroglide for the discerning audiophile.

" Transmission Fluid" " plug connections" " creating a greater contact area that lowers that contact’s resistance and thus allows more current (the signal) to flow" " the effectiveness of the connection is improved"

Chord might have figured out a way to get your spouse to join you in your cable fetishism.

Just to be clear, this is “Chord Company” who are cable makers, not “Chord Electronics” the guys who make DACs etc.

Regardless, this sounds like the new version of the “cryo-treated” cables thing.

    *Sigh*

Wonder how many people also thought this was Chord Electronics. Saw a few people link the same article thinking Chord Cables is the same as Chord Electronics.

Developed by a guy named... Andante Largo. What. Wow.

Also I only just now learned after being promoted to look it up by... this that not all polymers are electrically nonconductive— first reaction upon reading that was "how is all this not gunking up the connectors??", turns out that there are a class of organic polymers that are actually used as electrical (semi)conductors, and that the main advantage thereof is that they're easy to get into tiny nooks and crannies.

In other words, this isn't anything particularly new in concept, though the possibility remains that they've "improved" it. And lol I thought it was the DAC Chord people too to begin with.

For those of us in the US that's around $770/oz...

...which is over twice the cost of Chanel No. 5 (not that the perfume is a a good deal, but at least it's got a much higher WAF)

Thanks for the link, I just send this to my local Audio Group as a laughing material. I couldn't stop laughing for ten minutes.

Our engineers, please correct me if I'm wrong, but contact enhancers is actually a thing, right? Has industrial uses, and is also not necessarily cheap.

But hey, Chord-Whoever... this is only hifi. Yes, I did say only hifi.

Pass me the Deoxit. Nothing wrong with keeping them connections nice and clean!

Only time I knew of such things being used from my days as a plant engineer was if there were contaminants around that could cause connection issues - e.g. chemicals in the air, saltwater. Not sure if that would be the case in most audiophile environments, except for maybe some scotch vapor...

As @Thad E Ginathom states, Deoxit is legit. This Chord (not the DAC company) sludge is likely snake oil. I've plenty of tt jackfield use that benefits from periodic deoxit application, living near seawater.
