  2. going into it knowing what I'm getting, and I'm going to enjoy it for what it is

  3. already numb to the anal rape via JJ Abrams lens flare. But I will watch because it hurts so good.

  4. avoiding this new series like the plague.

    His death was lame. Captain Kirk would have gone out in a blaze of glory, like crashing his ship along with all hands to save the galaxy. He'd look over at the bridge crew, to see if he could save them, but his crew would acknowledge the need to sacrifice their lives. Beside there wouldn't be enough time to evacuate.

    So to add to my comparison post previously, I've been listening to the movie scores. This order is based solely on my enjoyment and how I feel it relates to the movie, and is not meant to be a professional critique.

    2 > 6 > 1 > 5 > 7 > 11 > 4 > 3 > 9 > 8 > 10 > 12

    Also I never realized Generations' soundtrack had the DS9 theme embedded (just after 56 minutes).

    Series themes:

    TOS > Voyager > TNG >>> DS9 >>> ENT

    Based on intro themes alone I'd go:

    Yeah but they like ultra-sweetened it up for TNG, which I didn't like upon hearing it again. I prefer the music of Voyager overall, but the originality of TOS wins for me.

    Actually it's pretty much same instrumentation, but the movie soundtrack was played and recorded much better. I am not familiar enough with the other themes from Voy, DS9, etc, but I think the TOS theme is great as well.

    I think it's the faster tempo and choppier recording that makes me not like the TNG theme as much. Just doesn't feel genuine.

    Maxvla you're right, I just listened to the two from the compilation i posted above and they are kind of horrid as they are sped up, the key is off, but the first one i heard was a bit different, dunno where it's from, but similar speed and same key as the movie version:
