Two Original production Liguid Glass - Black , stock tubes. $2000 ea.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have offered help Alex clean out his office space and over the next few weeks he is going to let me know what he has found that may be of interest to someone. Part of the haul include his demo gear – Cantata etc but he is still trying to find recall everything that ended up in various parts of the country.

To kick off the show, he has 4 amps to offer up.

For logistical reasons this is limited to USA shipping

    1. SOLD

A low hours Liquid Fire – early serial number (#88), in good condition (small scratch on rear near input terminals). Used as a demo unit in the early CA days and has been languishing on a shelf since he moved away from his original wrapped steel design. Has less than 100 hours.

    Price: $1000

    2. This too is SOLD

My favourite amp, the Liquid Glass (serial #40) – this second run agent orange LG. Was used as a demo and is near perfect too. It comes with a selection of tubes in a nifty Pelican case.

    Price : $ 2000

The next 2 amps will most likely end up being collectors’ pieces

    3. SOLD - quicker than I expected

This is an amp no one has heard off (at least they won’t recognize it) Liquid Cobalt! This is a one of a kind hand built by the master himself as a prototype for the Liquid Crimson (yep = crimson used to be blue ) AND has the only blue PCB based amp Alex ever built. It is for all intent and purpose a Crimson (circuit design etc , but no side heatsinks and a very cool design) It does have a small blemish on the front corner.

    Price: $1000

    4. SOLD - a real keeper

    1. Finally the very first preproduction Liquid Gold – hand built by Alex in near perfect condition, you can’t get a lower serial number than this because it has no serial number.

    Price :$2000

    [IMG]Gold - AC 1 by dufniall_dihardiyr, on Flickr

Another treasure from the vault - this time a rare silver faced Liquid Glass. Perfect working condition - pre-production ( ie no serial number) fully serviced by Avenson prior to being offered up to the lucky person who is looking for an amp.

    SOLD

Price is $2000 , PM me with your e-mail and we will go from there

I suspect these amps will not hang about for long – first firm offer seals the deal ( send me a PM). I will not be handling the money or shipping and I get no cut out of these deals, merely facilitating things for a dear friend.

One last thing, as CA no longer exists, these will not come with a warranty, but service is available through Avenson if needed

Once the deal is set, I will have Alex communicate directly with the new lucky owner. As other things become available, I will update this thread.

    Thx..dB

Not surprised the Cobalt sold so fast. There’s a lot of people that are looking for a Crimson and regret selling one they used to own.

    The Glass is mine.

One of the all time greats, plus it’s the commemorative Agent Orange logo run!

This has been a tough couple of days for me. First I can't have a Sonett 2, and now the Crimson...

It’s like a Christmas store display window. Reminds me of the Shindo Labs masterpieces.

Alex Cavalli is a gifted man, and it’s amazing that these are being made available for these prices. If you’re a planar magnetic nut, no other amp maker could make em sing like Alex.

Don sent me this list before he posted and I almost bought the Cobalt myself. I just hope it went to someone who will use it, not a constant flipper/upgrader.

Not surprised. $1000 was way too little. I never understood why people were dumping the Crimsons on HF for so little and for so a while back.

I am assuming this is a joke as I designed Alex's logo = still have all the catscratchings that went into pulling the final design together back in 2005ish ( started out in the DIY Headwize world )

I created the digital file based on a a sketch from someone that was close to Alex (presumably) - I don't believe it was you though. Did you also create the digital file that was used for the logo?

The fire is pretty much the precursor to the Crimson, right? This is probably going to sound idiotic, but I wonder how much work it would be to change that big ole red knob. The chassis is beautiful, but something about that knob just puts me off

I'm sure it comes off easily with an allen key.

The Fire is essentially an EHHA done right - tubes run at high voltage , the output sand has a separate regulated power supply , all blended for blissful embedded sound. The crimson evolved from the concept but is very similar in many ways.

yep, small allen key and it slides off.

An original Liquid Fire paired together with a pre fazor LCD-2 sounds like heaven right about now. Sure takes me back, too; back to the days when I was still a low post Head-if rando.

You know, I still have my oooold LCD2. I’d go for this if I could.
