I would say Peaky Blinders is more or less boardwalk empire but set in England.

Anyone watch Kung Fury yet on Netflix? Pretty awesome.

It's just 30 minutes, not exactly a movie or TV show.

Well here's what I would say: The first half of the first season of Justified is tough: Its completely episodic, every episode is a selfcontained storyline; a police procedural basically. Not terribly intriguing, but it introduces the characters, the world, the tone. The last few episodes of the first season are very good, stopping the procedural and instead telling the overarching storyline.
After that every season has progressively less procedural-episodes and more overarching-narrative-episodes. While the second season still has quite a few procedural-episodes the last seasons are completely non-procedural.

Now if you didnt like the tone of the first episodes, finding it 'cheesy', then all of the above wont matter to you. What you have to understand is that its not a realistic cop show and it isnt trying to be. This is a parallel universe Kentucky, where every rundown shack hides a drug cook, where you'll run into some weirdly funny small-time criminal behind every corner. Its absolutely unrealistic - and hilarious. What Justified does as good as any show I've ever seen is the creation of incredibly interesting, compelling, funny and weird characters who are then thrown into crazy situations. Great dialogue and lots of western-esque staredowns at gunpoint ensue. I absolutely loved it, but you have to get through the procedural part at first (which isnt bad in itself, it just doesnt compell you to scream 'next next next' when the episode is over. Unlike the later seasons.)

Looks like Comcast accidentally had the first few episodes of The Expanse up early on Xfinity streaming. 1st episode was pretty darn good, but by the end of the 4th, it was f'ing awesome. I highly recommend everyone check it out. Having read the books, I can say the story has some awesome payoffs down the road. This ain't the crappy Sharknado SyFy we've had for the past several years!

Love Banshee. Hottie venue gratuitous sex and inspired graphic violence. What's not to like?

Final season (4th) airs in April.

The six new X-Files are very uneven. 2/5 :(

The one episode worth watching is s10e03, a whimsical standalone written by Darin Morgan.

The series is really for only die hard fans. And it ends on a cliffhanger. WTF!

Well, I'm home sick with the flu and have done nothing but stream Amazon and Netflix.

Watched both seasons of Mozard in the Jungle. AWESOME. Then again, I pretty much love everything Jason Schwartzman is involved in.

Love - just released Netflix original. Nothing groundbreaking, but it was amusing. Typical Apatow. Raunchy for the sake of raunchy. But, some of the characters are just quirky and amusing enough to keep it interesting.

@dark_energy , I'm enjoying Legion quite a bit. Dark and surreal. Very stylized. Dan Stevens is excellent.

Really liked Orphan Black, it's on its last season this June. Mozart in the Jungle is somewhat good but I wish it had more music stuff than drama... Man in the High Castle too, I really liked.

For most of my adult life I've mostly felt disdain for TV dramas and most sitcoms. The dramas have just been so painfully cheesy (especially the cop shows, CSI's, NCIS, etc.. ) and the comedies are predictable with unoriginal jokes. I have enjoyed a few over the years such as X-Files, The Unit, Seinfeld, The Office until it jumped the shark. But now it seems like these new players (such as Netflix) are making some really great content from what I hear. My problem now is that I just don't have time to watch any of it anymore! I'm really interested in watching Stranger Things if I ever get the time.

If you were mesmerized by The Wire, like I was, I would suggest that you try True Detective or The Night Of. They all leave the same sense of, indescribable, phuck!

Not sure why the dislike, I'm on season 3 atm, it's amazing. The atmosphere is incredible, the story is good, the production is good. Fairly slow pacing which I really like.

Season three was the pinnacle I would say.
