What is the purpose of HD650 KISS mod?

Good day and thug life my brothers.

I am new user to this forum but have been a lurker for a short while. I recently acquired a brand new pair of HD650 headphones via the classifieds on head-fi, however the cans were pre-modded before purchase ala the KISS mod which lead me here. The cans were a great price (due to the mod), and from a reputable seller.

However, even after lurking the forums I struggle to find a concise assessment of what the mod does, beyond supposedly making the sound better.

My question is, will the KISS mod alter the sound of the HD650 so much that it is effectively a completely new headphone? I am buying the cans for the purpose of mixing music, will the KISS mod benefit me in this manner?

From what I read it appears that the bass is less muddy, more tight, and the treble resolves better, which sounds ideal for my purpose, I am more curious if the mid range is effected by the mod? I would love to hear more testimonies!

They’ll be better in every way for mixing but I don’t know if you should be mixing with the HD650 to begin with.

To answer what you said, I chose the HD 650/6xx as directed by my friend Daniel Kandi, he claims that the HD650 is the perfect headphone for mixing/mastering music in a non-exorbitant price range whilst capable of professional results, and he has been mastering trance music on them for the past decade.

As for my name, I have always used this name, Victor, and have not had any issues with it so far.

How am I trolling Victor?... seems like it's more wasteful of my time to be trolling for something so specific topic on a forum ive never been on before, I literally purchased the HD650 last night, here is the classified on head-fi https://www.head-fi.org/classifieds/sennheiser-hd650-kiss-mod.20293/ as you can see is sold and i am more than willing to take photos of the unboxing with a date stamp once I receive them as further proof of my acquisition.

Despite the former comments I would love hear any other testimonies of the kiss mod and how it improves the HD650 sound characteristics.

This forum generally hates those who start a random question thread.

You'd better google it first and do your homework as much as possible. Then ask question smartly in appropriate threads (again, starting a new thread w/o deep understanding is the easiest way to be ignored or hated here).

I think the HD650 is fine for mixing. It shouldn't be your *only* headphone though, but that rule holds true for your speakers/monitors and any other tool you use when producing music.
