    One other KOOL thing?

In that picture posted above, see the rack that has the dual circular tape drives (those were DEC Tape - yet another story there). Anyways, the RACK that portion of the computer was installed in was precisely the right size that stereo equipment (back then ALL good equipment had rack mount fascia’s, etc) would fit.

I scored a surplus rack and it was - for about 5 years - how my system was setup. Everything bolted in securely, whole thing on casters. Shelf for the turntable (at the time my Rega Planar 3). Alas, when I got married, my wife was like: “that’s UGLY and is NOT going in our hose… so sold it).

But it was killer KEWL to behold. A 6 foot rack chock full of amplifier, preamp, tuner, CD, two Nakamichi Cassettes, turntable, etc.
    Wish I still had it

The past 3 years have been a rollercoaster of sorts. Too much job-hopping for me.

This month I left hospitality for good. All my motivation and ambition were wasted. I now have a job that gives me a quiet live.

I started a job in logistics (outside Amsterdam, yes!). Just hands on making things work and moving orders from A to B. Essential work and plenty of opportunities to grow.

More manual labour is still valuable in our times.

This is a gift. If you can get paid decently and like what you are doing, physical work beats office work.
It is a pillar of well being and health that has been forgotten.
A friend of mine says - work behind a screen is ghey. Hard to argue.
