WTB: Schiit Gungnir DS

Uh, if anyone has a Gungnir DS they dont use for anything and wants to get rid of, I'd be willing to take it off your hands.

I've missed this DAC since I upgraded it to a Gungnir Multibit ( and then later sold).

 

Why do u like the DS over the MB?

There is a certain visceral intensity to the Gungnir DS that I’ve found lacking in every other dac I’ve ever heard.

I’m not saying I think the DS is better than Gungnir Multibit though, cause in nearly every way it isn’t. But I do think I prefer the DS version, but I’ve never been able to compare the two side by side.

What would be the going rate for Gen 3 USB version? $1500 or might as well buy new, right? Good luck offering Cizx $1500

The way I look at it is that everyone selling Yggys on HF is nuts, there’s no way anyone’s gonna Pay 1800-2000 on a Yggdrasil 1 with gen 3 usb

 

People on HF generally have this strange idea that the value or worth of an item correlates with how much money they spent on it. That's not how the used market works.

Used Gen5 Yggdrasil Analog 1 should be no more than $1600 tops. Gen3 I wouldn't spend more than $1400 on. Otherwise might as well buy new and get the new analog board, Gen5 usb and 5 year warranty.

 

How people value stuff can be a little crazy. It will cost $700 to get an old Yggdrasil to current specs, but that's without shipping, wait time, etc. Add on to that the used status, possible condition issues, and I wouldn't touch an old one for over $1200. Maybe 1300.

 

Did the Gun go through the AKM4399 - AKM4490 transition like bifrost/modi? @SoupRKnowva, if you still have the original S/N on the one you had maybe you should check it out w/schiit

Other than that go for those used Yggdrasil's, armed with the gen5/analog2 equation when making an offer... It'll have the more concise sound you are after no doubt!

Must be waiting for some unlucky fellow to come along that has no idea about the upgrades available for the Yggdrasil and the costs of those upgrades.

Lucky for him it's not really flying off the shelf at $2000.

 

He's not even including shipping with that price. Even if Gen5 and Analog 2 wasn't a thing, it would still be a rip off.
