Hey all. A different mesh and the pad spacers are coming from @zach915m and @ChaChaRealSmooth and should arrive either today, Monday or Tuesday. I'll send off everything to @Tchoupitoulas once I've had a day to listen and try it out, so most likely Tuesday, or Wednesday at the latest.

 

Pad extension rings are installed, and the bonus mesh is now in the delivery box. I sent UPS tracking info to @Tchoupitoulas and will get this dropped off tomorrow before noon.

FYI, it was double boxed so I reboxed in a new, single, smaller box with bubble wrap. Thanks!

 

Remove me from loaner, I have no interest.

I removed the pad extension rings as I had a hell of a time swapping the pads, gave up, and put the stock pads back on the headphones. I couldn't get them back on with the rings installed. I've never had problems with pads on other ZMFs.

 

Bokeh received today. Will open the box later tonight. Well stars have aligned and have got 2 loaners headphones at same time.

A cool birthday present for me

 

Arrived. Box looks to be in good shape. Will open and check out later today after I finish working.

 

All looks well. The pads were loose/falling off; took a bit of fiddling to get them back on (I have moderately disfiguring arthritis in my hands). Initial test, they work driven from Kara headphone amp output. Will do real listening later today,


Here’s what they look like in my newly configured system. I moved my power amp and power conditioning gear into the basement UNDER my listening room; moved all the front-end stuffs (sources, pre, DAC, etc.) to the listening end, in a built in cabinet about 8 feet to the side of my listening chairs.

Question for the gang: It came with 3 different, approx 6’ cables, 1/4” (using), a balanced, and what looks like a 3.5mm TRS? Connector (4 conductors instead of usual 3). I have a headphone cable extension (3.5mm) that I used to extend range when using my Koss before room redo (room is 25+ feet long. But, it is 3 conductor, not headphone/mic style.

If I use that as an extender, and plug the ZMF’ 3.5mm cable into it, is it going to hurt anything?

I ask because the included cables aren’t long enough to reach my chair, which will make critical evaluation a bit uncomfortable.
