It's going to happen no matter what we do because we've been coming out of an ice age the last 20 thousand years, but it's going to happen several centuries sooner than it would have naturally. We're just going to have to figure out how to live on a warmer Earth.

@dmckean44 agreed, but that doesn't mean everyone gets to stick their heads in the sand and pretend it doesn't exist. And if you can personally do something to make it better and happen a little slower then do so, otherwise those extinct species which couldn't cope with the sudden change might be on you.

Convincing everyone to revert back to a pre-industrial age lifestyle and population level will be a tough sell. It will still get worse because technology will continue to advance, look how many self piloting "flying car" start ups are there right now. Plus I think Nuclear Fusion reactors are probably only a decade out, people will want to climate control entire neighborhoods or even cities at that point.

We need more investment in the energy source of the future... coal.

Instead of arguing about the scientific status of Global Warming, I hope we can all agree that it's very wise to research and develop alternative energy sources. As someone who's lived in the Middle East, I can tell you that solar power works well (in some places and for some purposes).

@dmckean44 The only person you need to convince is yourself, that's where it needs to start. It's a bad situation overall and you can either add to it or subtract from it. Not expecting miracles either, every little bit helps. Fusion reactors... sure... but you go to war with the army you have.

We need a change in energy sources. Which is doable. Thing is making that change requires a change in infrastructure and investments in new technology. This is disruptive and the old guard will resist...

So, no more tube amps, eh?

We buy all the tubes. Keep them before all the hipsters get their hands on those tubes. Just because climate change requires other changes, it does not mean we have to give up all our old luxuries. Just be one step ahead...

We buy all the tubes and power them with solar or wind, problem solved :) Besides, keeping old equipment running rather than buying new all the time is good for the environment.

So... It's alright for us responsible people to use tubes! ;)
