LinkedIn has been on its way there for ages now and what's this about baby Chrome being not-so-Googly?

Yeah, Chrome went heavyweight pretty fast. Kinda crazy.

LinkendIn is even worse than facebook these days. Microsoft Edge (gulp) is for sure way lighter these days than either Chrome or Firefox.

I never understood why anyone would spend one second on LinkedIn beyond the time they needed to make/update their profile. If they’re a recruiter that’s a different story.

IIRC, Linkedin was cash negative for a very long time, don't know about now. Hence they're pretty desperate to find something that works.

I'm with @Merrick on this one, LinkedIn is kinda just like a place to post resumes almost. I save all the cringe for Facebook. I dunno *how* turning into off-brand FB is supposed to help a site for "professionals" because last I checked FB is exactly what gets loads of people in trouble at work.

And huh, I thought it was just my ageing laptop having issues with Firefox. Weird.

Nah, basically all the browsers have gone to shit. As soon as they're done with the mobile version I'm switching to Vivaldi.

It's still chromium same as everything except ff (which is trying to be chromium) but slightly less terrible and not designed for the chinless.

I still have to use LinkedIn for my job, it feels bloated.

I use Firefox with about three extensions (HTTPS everywhere, an ad blocker, and a cookie destroyer) and several settings tweaked. It’s lightweight, fast, and reasonably hardened.

Brave is Chromium underneath too, and does pretty well with privacy. I use Iridium, for which they've taken out all the Google phone-home stuff. But Brave on my phone, and sometimes my Mac.

Chrome for lazy searches. Firefox for serious searches. Duck Duck Go for everything else. Social media are often terrible these days...

A year or two ago, Linkedin mailed me to say that I would not receive anything from them until I updated my profile.

    Sadly, they were lying.

I should delete the account. But everytime I think of it I get that "what if some person I worked with in 1998 actually wants to contact me?" and I don't. An nobody useful ever does contact me.

startpage.com is a good search tool. protonmail.com for email. Choosing your service providers to segregate personal data is pretty key these days.
