Are you sure? The 800, yeah, but it seems like it was discontinued in favor of the 800S, and I can't find anything saying the 800S is discontinued.

It’s almost certainly nonsense. No quarter goes by without some dealer trying to drum up short term interest by claiming x popular headphone is discontinued.

@mkozlows not positive, only forwarding what I was told at our local Sennheiser dealer. They even sold their HD800S demo unit.

Well there was loads of talk about the HD650 getting Aximili-d around the time HD660S was released but now we have a new Batman version (that hopefully is sonically identical?).

I'm mistrustful of Sennheiser reps when it comes to products being discontinued now.

Maybe it's just a misunderstanding? A rep messing with us on purpose would be disappointing to say the least.
