When we had a bigger dog, caucasian shepherd, he brought down deer and everything that moved on the fields. The cutest gifts.

Seeing as you don't eat smaller critters, the cat has stepped up to bigger game.

Oh shit. Marital harmony here was destroyed two days ago when one of "my cats" killed a bird. It was a beautiful little sunbird, and I was pretty upset too.

A few weeks back, Thomas brought us a live bird which he turned loose in the house. Dr. Emmett being an indoor only cat, had never had an opportunity to hunt a bird and proceeded to chase the bird upstairs into our bedroom where my wife was sleeping. The next five minutes were a blur of bird, cat, screaming wife and shit flying every which way. That took many hours to resolve and cleanup.

That sounds both disturbing and hilarious...animals sharing our living space sure makes things interesting.

Cherish that cat. Happy cats do that and that means you have been good for your cat. Good job.

It was disturbing but now a humorous memory. The bird was carefully brought to us without damage. I think Thomas wanted us experience the joy of hunting a bird. After release, he positioned himself where he could enjoy the show. Incredibly we were able to corral the bird and have it fly out an open window while two cats were sequestered. Both cats are my lab assistants, often sleeping near while I work.

Whoa! I can do that kind of lab work. Even in highly-technical, specialist labs. I can send you my CV: I have slept in numerous roles from unskilled factory floor to IT management.

But I do lack other cat-specific skills. Also no tail or fur.
