sometimes pressure is different between my ears and I'll hear imbalances that aren't really there. Or just breaking a seal. Drink some water and eat spicy food, open up the sinuses. Might help!
I had a similar experience about 3 years back. It turned out that that my left ear hearing wasn’t as sensitive as the right, possibly due to a blocked Eustachian tube. Thankfully it went away in a couple of weeks.
I'm not noticing anything with other headphones, only the Diana Phi. There is no seal, so it could be the shape of my ears? I've definitely been struggling with allergies.
Allergies most likely play a role here. I wouldn't worry too much about it. Maybe if you're really suffering from nervosa, have someone else listen to it?
You have taken the techie approach? Played a tone centred or mono, shut your eyes, and "seen" where it comes from? Maybe you have to do a sweep if you think if might be frequency dependent.
Pisses me off that balance controls became an audiophile no-no about 30 years back. Ears are not perfect, rooms are not perfect...
It may just be wax. It may clear itself, or you may need to consult an ENT doc. My ears need cleaning out at least once a year. It used to make a huge difference, but as I get deafer it makes less. Look after your ears! If in doubt see a doc. :)
Some channel imbalance may reduce your resale value a bit, but it needn't affect your music pleasure. Your brain will adjust.
