I hate apple but when my 10 year old PC I built finally dies I'm getting a Mac book. Microsoft can kiss my ass. Still on windoze 10 have no interest in 11. I don't game on PC anymore and don't use it for music anymore since pi2aes love affair.
If I get it wrong, the machine turns into a plastic brick or a full reset (from BIOS) is necessary. Third party software is required to fix the partition and for years Microsoft has been ignoring this issue. It will be fixed but post W7, I honestly hate Microsoft.
Yes, you have to learn to live without some bits of software you always thought were absolutely essential, but you get to learn that they weren't. And don't worry: Libre Office does its best to reproduce the awfulness of Microsoft Office. In fact, I'd say it's worse!
I hate NTFS. And partition compatibility has always been a Linux/MacOS strength and a Windows weakness. And many Linux based distros can read NTFS, but not very efficiently. And why you need 3rd party software on Windows to format SD cards is totally beyond me why that kind of function is not baked into the OS or at least included.
I am even moving to Ext4 for external USB backup drives.
I do not claim that this is a easy answer to all, because it is *more* temperamental about being just unplugged. But I got fed up with directories suddenly becoming unreadable, unwriteable and unremovable. ...
