and although it's not happening in my avatar, half the time I was the one that was upside down! that part I most definitely can't do anymore, as my knees hurt just thinking about it
@bixby Interesting. Fentanyl for colonoscopy is considered old practice according to my nurse today. When I had one 20 years ago they used versed and fentanyl and I woke up during the procedure and I remember it. Now apparently most use propofol. This time I stayed under and then continued to stay under for 45 mins after. My wife said ny tongue was hanging out and my eyes were halfway open.
I was awake for the whole thing watching them do their business on the monitor. They kept asking do you feel the effects, I said no, haha. Maybe they did not want to put me under due to age? That was one of the 2 drugs listed on the data sheet, not sure what the other was.
I've had an 'oscopy but at the other end. I was awake, maybe slightly sedated. There was a beautiful nurse who let me lock eyes with her for most of it: I'm so grateful to her!
General anaesthetics, even light ones, are avoided as far as possible, I'm told: there is always *some* risk.
